Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere are a lot of stairs if you struggle with them.
Lovely old historical property run within their home by Pascal and his family. Perfect location at the harbour mouth with sea views and close to all the restaurants. Comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast in the room or in the parlour area. Pascal was very welcoming and attentive.

NetherlandsPersonally we prefer breakfast in the beautiful reception/lounge room as we don't like to have breakfast on/in bed. Our shower was not working perfectly. Beds and bathrooms were not cleaned daily and wet towels not replaced
Location is top. Rooms quite big and are beautiful decorated and suggest to take a room with harbour view.

United KingdomThis was the only property which did not provide a kettle or facilités to make tea/ coffee. The waste bins were tiny and we were told that no member of staff would enter our room to clean or remove rubbish due to Covid restrictions, we had to ask for replacement towels of the shy but very pleasant young woman. Given the cost of the room for a 4 night stay, customer care was minimal. To get to the hotel by car we had to telephone the Corps de Garde to obtain the code to lift the barrier into that part of the town. The proprietor greeted us warmly on arrival, indicated where we could park ( very convenient and no charge) and kindly reserved dinner for us in a nearby restaurant, after that he remained very much in the background and the two young women in the kitchen dealt with any queries we had. The shower over the bath was only partially working and only soap was provided. The towels were rather worn. A small bottle of water was provide on arrival but nothing more after that and no fridge for our own water. Breakfasts were adequate but absolutely no variety of choice. The reception area was rather untidy and unwelcoming and lights were left on throughout the day which seemed wasteful to us in a time of heatwave. Our departure was somewhat scrambled due to finding our car parking bay had been taped off without warning, thé young woman helpfully wrote a note for the authorities and eventually the proprietor explained it was due to the visit of a government official and there was no need to worry about being towed away. Needless to say we ate breakfast very quickly and left in such a hurry that my husband discovered he only had one shoe out of a pair!
The hotel was more like a Chambres d’Hotes, very spacious, well located on the quay with views to the lighthouse and harbour. The decor was fascinatingly French and the owner ( or wife) operated a boutique from which guests could purchase a range of fashionable items. We were free to come and go as we pleased, our room was delightful with a view of the port and town and breakfast was adequate. Our room was a good size and we could leave the window and blind ajar to allow ventilation. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the sofa. We appreciated the good coffee at breakfast.

United KingdomA small suggestion and not a complaint. It might not fit in with the ambiance… but a kettle with tea/coffee in the room would be lovely .. to continue enjoying the view!
Superb location on the port of St Martin; such an interesting house full of historical association & detail. Very well appointed room with harbour views. Charming, super helpful staff. Generous breakfast with copious amounts of tea & coffee. Safe bike storage. Easy access to come & go freely straight into St Martin.

SpainWe could have used a bit more of amenities as we were staying there for a week.
This is an amazingly special place to stay and discover Île de Ré, perfectly located in a building with history and character. Our room had views over the “ecluse” of the port of Saint Martin. Overall, great!
