Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt was different that the master had a small shower and sink attached, but having two toilets instead of two showers would be nicer for four people. Something interesting we learned was that due to regulations in the city, when replaced, all of the windows need to visually retain their original appearance (as per our tour guide), so double pane windows are pricier than normal. I understand that the temps don’t get too extreme here, but the lack of a sound barrier is not a plus if you’re a lighter sleeper. This is in a city, not the country, but it’s just an observation which could factor in a decision.
The apartment was spacious and clean with large windows overlooking the street. It was in a good area, about a twenty minute, easy walk to the castle area. Also easy to walk to King Arthur’s Seat… a must do! The apartment had all you could need to spread out and be comfortable. The beds were comfortable and there were a few extra pillows, always a plus! It was also close to a few restaurants and grocery store. Management seemed open to offer help or suggestions, but we had no issues. Not a problem for us, but there are quite a few steps and no elevator, if someone were sensitive to this issue.

United KingdomIf I had to say something I’d say the beds weren’t the comfiest, but that wasn’t a major drama.
The property had everything we needed. Great facilities and very spacious. Excellent location.

United States of AmericaLocated in a nice area with plenty of pubs, grocery stores and coffee shops. Bus stop nearby. Easy walk to Royal mile. The apartment was clean, modern and large enough for our group of 6. Communications with management was easy.

United States of AmericaWe didn't cook, but if so, stainless steel for saute pans and pots would be a real plus. We don't use any non stick products at home.
The bed and appartment were clean and comfortable, and location great with easy walking and access to multiple buses.

United KingdomOur 3 bed apartment was in the basement and was a little more compact than the pictures showed (living room wasn't that big). But it had access to the terrace where we spent a lot of time
Lovely spacious apartments with every amenity you could need! The apartments were really clean and comfortable too, with extra pillows for bedrooms and plenty of towels. The area has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants within walking distance and is right beside a central bus stop.

JerseyBit noisy at night as was in main road right over the traffic lights, just make sure you bring some ear plugs and you’ll be alright, though. Really the only issue we had; we were very comfortable otherwise.
Great location, walked easily to the old town, good restaurants nearby, was very clean, spacious, kitchen very well equipped, plenty of nice towels, Netflix at the ready for the one bit when it rained.

Great location. Just out of the city centre but easy access, quick on buses or by foot. Much better value for money than staying in the city centre. Great restaurants right by the property. Warm, comfortable.

United KingdomNot much other than steps to it was a bit hidden. It was also a target for someone who had to much to drink and got sick by the gate - not to pleasant to walk past.
Very clean and well presented. Had everything we needed and having coffee and tea was a great start to our visit. Shops to get some groceries are close by and we even enjoyed a take-away delivery! Walking distance to Royal Mile, but bus stop outside if walking is not possible.
