How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The couch the bed covers were very old.
The location was perfect. If you are with language it is near the parking and the just a few meters from the train station. The lady on the check in was very friendly

The room was disappointingly small and furnished with outdated furniture, while the blankets provided were also old. The beds were notably small, and behind them, we noticed mold on the walls. Additionally, the promised garden view was marred by an unkempt and neglected garden outside the window. For check-in, guests are required to visit another hotel to receive their keys, adding an unnecessary inconvenience to the process. Directions to the Atlantide Hotel, located just 30 meters away, are provided upon key collection. Throughout our stay, we found a lack of staff presence in the hotel, with only cleaning staff visible. It was also disappointing to find that water and refreshments were not included, and breakfast came at an additional cost and somewhere else..
It was not only cost-effective compared to other options but also conveniently located near both the train station and vaporetta ports. The cleaning staff at Atlandite Hotel and the receptionist at the other hotel, where check-in is required first, were exceptionally friendly.

My room was 150cm x 500cm total 7,5m2. It was so small for such high price.
It is very expensive as other hotels in Venice but rooms and toilets are clean. Helpful personnel. I recommend it for one night.

The hairdryer wasn't very powerful but still did the job just took a little longer. The windows were slightly overlooked so had to keep the curtains closed whilst changing but rather than that not having windows.
Excellent 2 star hotel. Fantastic value for money. The hotel is in the perfect location. Can walk to main tourist attractions easily within 30 minutes or take the water bus and there's an Alilaguna stop nearby too if that's how you choose to travel from the airport. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned, beds were made and fresh towels every day.

The room was so small there was no space to circulate, even alone. It's very basic, the bed cover was damaged and the view was on a garden turned building site. Tiny tv, no kettle although the host kindly gave us one with 2 cups when we asked.
You won't find a kinder, more helpful host! The hotel is near the station, and the boat departure point. Great location .

A warm suggestion is to improve the illumination in the room.
The personnel working in the hotel were very kind, professional and efficient, which made us feel very welcomed. The hotel itself is small, but it is a cozy shelter after a long trip. The room is very clean and equipped with the necessary stuff.

I do not need TV on my holiday and I could have changed it to a better reading light and a chair or an electric kettle, but I understand that it is not possible to satisfy everyone's needs.
The location: 2 minutes walk to the train station and to the vaporetto stop "Ferrovia" from where there are lines to piazza San Marco and another line to Murano/Burano/Torcello; another to isola di San Giorgio Maggiore. The bathroom was perfect, with hot water; and was very clean. The lady at the reception helped a lot and did not hesitate to answer my all questions.

There was no heating in the room, there was only one radiator and that was in the bathroom and at night it got a little cold.
Kind staff, last day we could leave our bags at the reception after check-out.

Air conditioning heating not really controllable in the middle of winter. Room slightly small. Environment can feel claustrohpobic, but much of Venice may be, and our intention wasnt to really spend to much time indoors. Not necessarily romantic room, more utilitarian.
Location was good, though fair bit of travelling in an out of venice, which can take a bit long. Room was decent. Slightly small but workable. Staff friendly. Window opened into a bit of a storage area which wasnt necessarily great. For the price, found it valuable. Bed was comfortable.

No breakfast, but there is plenty of options around. No elevator, but good luck finding a hotel with one in Venice.
Location, near the S.Lucia train station. Impeccably clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Relatively spacious room for Venice standards. Very good wifi. Quiet place.

The check in is around the corner from your actual hotel also the base of the toilet was leaking and got my pants wet.
