Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United States of AmericaThis has nothing to do with the hotel, but we were disappointed that there weren't as many rabbits we had seen in the videos.
Since it is the only lodging on the island, I would rate the location as excellent. The buffet dinner was much cheaper than I thought it would be.

JapanSince many rooms do not have shower rooms or baths, shy people that have body defects cannot go to the public bath. It would be nice to offer a private bath (貸切風呂) for extra fee. They had an evening event showing how sea fireflies glow in the cup of water. Even though we were told they will be returned back to the sea, I had mixed and disturbing feelings for using live creatures like this for educational/ entertaining purposes.
Staff: Professional and very helpful. We are very picky travelers, but they could professionally respond to all our requests and satisfy all our needs. Transportation: They provide extra ferries from/to Tadanoumi port in addition to the regular ferry, and shuttle bus to/from the port, very convenient. Meals: delicious, amazing quality and huge variety. It exceeded our expectations. They also had allergens lists near each dish, which is very thoughtful to the people with food restrictions. Rooms: Spacious and clean. Some parts need renovation, but considering the age of the hotel, we expected that. Facilities: you can rent a bicycle and a variety of things for outdoor activities. There is a pool and facilities at the beach that are open during the summer. It was closed when we visited, but we definitely will be back. You can enjoy cafe till 8 p.m. and souvenir shop till 9 p.m. Location: It's the only hotel on the rabbit island, you can enjoy the island without tourists and feed the rabbits during the evening and early morning and see sunrise/sunset.

United States of AmericaI wish there was a cheaper option on the island. The room would be nicer with a floor lamp in two corners rather than a harsh light overhead.
Buffet was good. Island was great to visit. Even though I was a foreigner I stayed in a Japanese style room. Lots of people complain that japanese futons are too firm but I found the one here to be comfortable for a back sleeper. Probably would not be as comfortable for a side sleeper. Staff was very accommodating and kind. Stains on the carpet in the hallways but the room was clean. Each floor has a shared microwave. I enjoyed my stay.

United Arab EmiratesA little outdated in terms of facilities, limited choices of food for the buffet & we found out that the hotel does not care for the rabbits on the island. If you do come, please visit the grocery store near Tadanoumi station and buy big treat bags for 11$. And at the Gateway to rabbit island you can buy 200yen per small treat bag. Please buy a lot as you can’t buy any food for the bunnies on the island. And even better if you bring lots of carrots. Please bring big bottles of water and hike around the island to fill up the bunnies’ water pans. As it is up to visitors to care tor the rabbits. Especially feed the bunnies at the hills, as not a lot of tourists visit those places. Thank you for taking care of the bunnies everyone🤍

United States of AmericaThe resort is dated. Inside our room was clean, but showed definite signs of age - peeling wallpaper/paint, stains on walls from age, for example. In the hallways and other parts of the hotel we saw carpets stained, wallpaper stained, cobwebs on the stairs (not on the ceiling -- but on the actual stairs). The room, dining room, and onsen were clean, but other parts of the hotel were not and the hotel is in need of updates to carpet, walls, etc. which would make this a stellar hotel. Obviously it's the only lodging option, aside from camping, on the island, so maybe updates aren't a priority, because people have nowhere else to stay.
Staff were incredibly friendly, dinner and breakfast were delicious and had a wide variety of foods, obviously location is exccellent! Staff did a science talk the evening we stayed. Our room was lovely and we appreciated the futon set up as well. Cute gift shop, and the island itself is highly walkable.

United States of AmericaI am sorry to say that the hotel is in disrepair and was extremely dirty and worn. We had selected the Japanese style room, with the futon's on the Tatami mats. The walls, closet doors, and windows were very dirty (filthy) and in disrepair. The entry way and other part of the room had significant stains and/ worn carpet. Some of the bedding was not clean at all, had stains and hair on them, which appeared as though they were not washed at all. Although, the sheets that went over the futons seemed to be clean; I did find that my pillowcase had what appeared to be small drops of blood on it. The plugs were pushed into the wall sockets, and although they worked they did not seem safe. It felt like this hotel had not been updated since the 70's and the common areas and our room were very dirty and worn.
The hotel is in a beautiful location. When we arrived the sun was just getting close to setting, and it was so beautiful. We arrived at the hotel and checked in with no problems. The staff person was very friendly and tried to speak in English, as well as provide written information in English, since my daughter speaks Japanese, it was not needed too much. Later that night he did a great presentation on Umihotarus (Sea fireflies). Since I did not speak Japanese, I received a paper that explained the presentation in English. The speaker was animated and people seemed to really enjoy his style. So, even though I did not speak the language, the presentation and illustrations were easy to follow along with and very informative. The staff also nicely held our luggage for us after checkout so we could spend the rest of the day on the island. The buffet had a wide variety of options to chose from and was laid out very nicely.

United KingdomThe grounds staff were very rude and one man shouted at me very aggressively for feeding the rabbits which was recommended to me to do so by the hotel staff. No showers which made the room worse, especially when we had travelled so far and made it especially difficult for tattooed people. Some of the rabbits required veterinary attention which was sad to see. Most of them had conjunctivitis, pasturella and wounds from fighting. The room was outdated and quite expensive for what it was. Rabbit food is not available on the island so I would suggest buying from the supermarket which is not too far from the dock. It may be difficult to feed the rabbits though as you may be shouted at for no reason!
The location was stunning and not many people on the island which was a nice change from the busy cities. Some hotel staff were helpful and we were able to rent bikes which was a great experience. The view from our window was beautiful!

IsraelThe hotel itself is very old, you can see it by the elevator and by the visibility of the corridors. The rooms themselves look better and the onsen also looks better.
Dinner and breakfast are very rich, even the pickiest eaters will find something to eat here. A lot of food and a lot of delicious things.

Sweden- Hotel feels very dated and in need of a refresh. Hallways smelled stale, walls and ceilings were water damaged in places. For the price, I would expect it to be better-kept. - Old-fashioned keys and thin doors did not feel the most secure.
+ Large room + Public baths / onsen + Comprehensive breakfast and dinner buffets + Of course, the bunnies. Walk outside and they are everywhere, and you can watch them from the window as well.

United States of AmericaSeems that hotel needs an upgrade. There was a small bay full of trash from high tide or a storm. Not regarding hotel, but one bunny really needed veterinarian care. Architecture of the old chemical warfare factories were reminiscent of Soviet Union style. Luckily the bunnies have taken over which makes everything delightful!
Food was awesome but mostly the bunnies were great. Great view from hotel. Sunset spectacular. All of the travelers were nice. Super gift shop, a lot of room to lounge, onsen. Regardless of what I didn't like, This s a wonderful island, and would be a nice surprise birthday gift for kids, or any other bunny lovers.

GermanyThe building from the outside and inside is a little bit older and some things could be renovated to be more modern and nicer. Also, while the buffet for dinner and breakfast has a wide variety of food, some of the food could be better quality.
A nice thing is the Onsen in the hotel and that the rooms are in Japanese style with futons and tatami. The location is really convenient to get around the island and back to the mainland.

United KingdomFor the high price of the rooms, the hotel overall is very run down and aged. Also note that the shared bathroom is Japanese style where everyone washes naked in the same room together, there aren't any private shower rooms.
Excellent location with loads of bunnies all around the hotel grounds - the bunnies are friendly and will hop on your lap for food! The hotel futon beds were comfy and staff offer to make them up for you. Free tea set in the room, kimonos and slippers provided. The dinner and breakfast buffet were great with lots of options. The room had its own toilet which we weren't expecting. The hotel has a free shuttle bus to the pier. The room had the most beautiful view over the sea and other islands.

JapanHaving a bathroom in the room will make the hotel more attractive for more than one night stay It was not a surprise as clearly indicated on booking.com (toilet and sink available in the room).
Location is unique and this is the only hotel available on the island. Free shuttle from pier to hotel. Children loved the place Bunny food to be purchased before going to the island (ferry ticket shop).

United States of AmericaI guess with everything limited on the island, it is challenging to maintain the facilities, just be prepared that it is an old facilities. The futon and duvet probably need to be cleaned.
The view is breathtaking - facing the ocean that can see the water, palm trees, sand, bunnies. The staffs are all very helpful, friendly, and patient.
