Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRooms 1 & 2 are located on the ground floor next to the reception. Unfortunately you could hear all activity going on in the reception as though it were in the room. While I respect this is an eco guest house made in old style wooden construction, I would avoid staying in either of these rooms due to noise disturbance. Location is lovely but it is a little too far from the port for easy access to the main restaurants etc. You do need a bike if you want a wider choice of restaurants, shops and museums.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was large, good size beds and very clean . Good laundrette facilities. Breakfast was super good and the staff accommodated non meat requirements within the breakfast choice. Bike hire available which is really convenient and pretty safe mode of transport to get around the island. Close to the Bressen Menu Museum but at the other side and not the main entrance.

The hotel is basic but very clean and conveniently located, with a few good restaurants nearby. The staff were helpful and friendly.

JapanIt would be better if we could have more flexibility with breakfast time. But otherwise all else was great.
Breakfast was great with free servings of rice, soup and drinks. It’s good that they have a slightly different menu everyday. Location-wise it was a little far from the central area but we enjoyed the night walks so it was good too. Staff was very nice and helpful.

United States of AmericaThe Italian restaurant out front was closed for dinner, which left only udon or okanomyiaki for dinner choices.
Location is a bit out of the way, and if you don’t have a car then dining options are limited. That said, comfy, clean, very helpful staff, and they arranged to have our luggage delivered to the hotel from the bike shop right across from the ferry so we could go visit art right away, and in the morning same delivery.

AustraliaLoved everything
The brick architecture of the building was beautiful. It was lovely to come stay here after staying in hostels for 1 month. The staff made this experience exceptional for me. Two ladies at the front counter went above and beyond. At one point all the bikes were booked but one lady made sure to secure it for the next day for me. Another lady also gave me a lift to the ferry when dropping off another persons luggage to ensure I did not miss my barge that was leaving for Teshima island. Overall I loved my stay here and will recommend to friends and family. Thank you!

United KingdomAs with many Japanese hotels, the room could have been a bit bigger.
The location was perfect for us as we wanted to walk around the island. It was also convenient to the bus to the two ports. It was in a quiet seaside hamlet with two restaurants and easy access to the Benesse Art museum area on foot. The staff were super friendly and helpful - making a dinner reservation for us and enquiring about a taxi. This is a small, modern hotel and very comfortable with an Italian restaurant next door and an Okonomiyaki restaurant just around the corner.

United States of AmericaOn our last day out of four days, the bathrooms in two rooms had a bad odor, I suspect from the drainage set up. The breakfasts were adequate but could use improvement with more variety of choices.
