Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFabulous experience and nice and cosy Yurts. It was a lot of fun staying here. Bathroom and facilities are spread out like a camping ground but it’s so unique and comfortable that you just accept it as part of the experience. Staff and charcoal grill was terrific.

United KingdomIt was cold in the yurts at night - even in May so take layers
Gorgeous location on this wonderful island. Swam in the sea and explored the island by bike. Their evening meal where you grill your own food is excellent.

NetherlandsWe stayed in one of the 3 caravans and I must say they are due an upgrade. Blinds are dirty and broken- some didn’t close. Sofa upholstery is stained. Lots of random cupboards are taped shut (I assume they no longer close) and tape residue is all over the place. The beds are very small for Europeans (especially tall dutchies) but this can be expected in a caravan.
What a unique experience, right on the beach looking overlooking the yellow pumpkin by Yayoi Kusama!! The bbq dinner on site was recommended to us by hotel staff as there’s not much open in the evenings and I highly recommend it. It was super unique and a nice way to enjoy the campsite, we told them we were vegetarian which was no issue, we didn’t feel like we were missing out because we were given so many vegetables and tofu types to grill. The private bath was also a fun authentic experience they offer.

SingaporeThe heater felt a little cold during the night which made it a little hard to sleep.
Good location, next to the beach. Was very scenic. Feels like a more affordable alternative to the nearby Benesse House stays. They provide yukatas and the traditional Japanese room had a toilet and private bathtub for use. I would recommend to bring your own conditioner, but shampoo and body soap is provided.

United StatesWe were sleeping on a futon on tatami mats, which actually ended up being a bit stiff for us, so something to be aware of if you don't have experience sleeping this way.
The location is phenomenal - right on the beach, so you're falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing, plus the bus stop to take you around the island is right outside. This is not a luxury resort, but everything was clean and well-maintained. We stayed at the traditional Japanese room that had the bonus of some kitchen facilities and en-suite bathroom, plus, it's windows opened wide so that we could see the ocean. The restaurant on the premises had much needed sustenance and delicious local beer.

United StatesThe two staff we interacted with were super friendly and extremely helpful. I made a mistake with the booking dates and they still took the time to call and research other options for me. Their food recommendations off the island was 100% as well. Above and beyond expectations. Thank you!

AustraliaNot many food options. Could book meal at restaurant for 3,300 yen or there was a few vending machines but not a huge variety. Frozen bento box for 1,000 was pretty good
Great location right on the beach and very close walking distance to Benesse House, Valley Gallery etc. The yurt was beautiful and very comfortable.

AustraliaThe Yurts have a slight musty smell which we cleared by opening the door and zipped up windows. They are in need of some TLC. That said we loved them.
We loved the location and the staff. Also having space inside and outside the yurt. A lovely view and being able to have a swim nearby.

AustraliaThey could have supplied breakfast packs, milk and some crockery and utensils. There were only drink vending machines. Some snack vending machines would have been great as you are pretty isolated from convenience stores. The cupboards where the bedding was stored was pretty dusty.
The view! The location! The tatami floor snd shoji doors. The peace and quiet. The proximity to all the wonderful galleries. The easy going staff.

United KingdomIt isn’t near to any local convenience store or supermarket, so you need to be careful to make sure you’ve brought food with you! The shared toilet block is also situated the furthest away from the yurts so that’s something to bear in mind if you often need to use the restroom during the night. If you’re visiting during the summer months, it might not be the best place to stay as there were already a lot of mosquitos out when we visited (early April) which made it difficult to sit outside the tent.
The location is amazing. We woke up and walked 5 minutes down the beach to the Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin in our pyjamas. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating and could speak English. If you want a very unique experience on the island (and you love the outdoors) this place is for you!

FranceWe were there in early April so we got cold during nighttime even if we prepared for that. It's difficult to get something to eat around so you might want to bring stuff from the other side of the island.
Beautiful seaside location, very close to the museums, quiet and relaxing place. Easy to reach by bicycle. Spacious daishan house, beautifully and traditionally decorated.

New ZealandAt night the wind was pretty bad! I woke up around 2 am with the roof rattling in the wind thinking it was an earthquake! It was so loud that I only managed to get back to sleep around 4am when the wind calmed down. Also wish the toilets were closer. There is no water supply in the camper van either so if you want a drink you gotta go for a wander.
I didn't realise I was booking a caravan when I chose "1 room" BUT! I was pleasantly surprised to be staying in a cute little trailer by the sea with gorgeous views and very helpfully located right at the location of local bus and shuttle! 2 min walk from Kusama's yellow pumpkin! They provide bedding etc in the camper van however toilet is a fair walk away as well as showers. They are all very clean! Dinner at their local restaurant was also delicious!

IsraelWe got to stay in an RV, it was pretty small and there wasn’t much room to open our luggage comfortably. The RV has bunk beds or a couch that opens into a bed, not as convenient. Shower is an extra and is coin operated

United StatesMy only problem was no bathrooms IN the yurt but bathrooms were available close to our yurt. For older women who go several times to the bathroom at night, it was kind of stressful.
Next to the ocean so you can hear the waves at night. Yurts so it was very comfortable and an exciting experience. It was like glamping. The location was wonderful.
