JapanDormy Inn is a little bit far from the nearest subway, a walk of about 6-7 minutes uphill. That is quite tough if you are wheeling a suitcase behind you. However, leaving the hotel to get to the airport, it was easies (as it was downhill).
The basement onsen (communal hot spring bathing) is excellent. It is kept clean and tidy, and the water temperature is almost as hot as it would be in Japan. I was happy that it stays open through the night, as I came back to the hotel late on several occasions. I also appreciated having the fee coffee in the entrance lobby. And the free ramen in the evening is a nice touch. It is useful that there is a direct subway connection to Gimpo Airport.

Rooms are small but everything works and the bed is quite big. A good selection at breakfast - Korean, Japanese, Western. Good hybrid Korean sauna & Japanese onsen.

United States of AmericaI did not realize how sprawling Seoul is. We ended up taking cabs most everywhere and going pretty long distances to what we wanted to see. My recommendation is to do more research than I did on location. I also found the rooms dark, lighting poor.
Really nice small rooms with lounge wear, good shower, good bed. The complimentary ramen soup was fun to have each night and sometimes became dinner when we were tired. Staff were very helpful as we do not speak Korean.

SingaporeIn my previous room there was a small luggage cabinet to place my bag for unpacking. In this trip, the room I was given did not have one. I note that the room space is tight, but it will certainly be helpful for those of us with a bad back to have at least a folding luggage rack available as part of the room facility or on demand from house-keeping.
This is my 2nd time returning to Dormy. The hospitality from the staff from the reception to the restaurant as always is excellent. Highlights for me at this hotel includes the SPA facility, the evening complimentary Japanese Hot Udon service as well as the availability of the use of the mobile hot-steamer for me to straighten-up my clothes ahead of my work days in Seoul. And with the shopping district & food street just a stone throw away from the hotel, after work, there was ample opportunity for "me time". A wonderful hotel within & around!

United States of AmericaWalking distance to the metro stations (Sinnonhyoen or Eonju) were a little farther away than I prefer. Getting to the dining street in the Gangnam Daero direction included uphill routes.
Dormy Inn breakfast never disappoints. Always delicious choices. Onsen is wonderful and the self service laundry excellent!
