Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

VietnamI couldn't stay longer because the house is fully booked 😥😥
The room is clean, spacious enough, fully equipped and has windows with natural light. The living room is very large with a beautiful small garden. The color tone of the house is very elegant and modern. Jina the host is extremely friendly and helpful. If I have chance to come back Seoul, I would definitely choose White Story.

PhilippinesNothing, I loved my stay here.
It’s a charming homestay situated in a quiet neighborhood with cute cafes and shops around. I’m a solo female traveler and I felt very secured in this house. Moreover, the owners/managers of the homestay are very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely book here again when I’m visiting Seoul.

FranceThe soundproofing was not the best between rooms but nothing that hindered my sleep.
I stayed in room D for more than a week, everything went well, the room was big and has all the amenities necessary for a good stay, and the host is always reachable by message if needed. Loved that two pillows were provided, two towels per day, your own trashcan in the room, a washig machine is also provided in the common area for onlmy 1000 won per usage.. The area is nice and quiet, close to a university so there's still lots to do and close to the metro and lots of buses so it's really to get around. Would definitely recommend this place.

SpainThe house is located in a quiet residential area, close to public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, and the common areas were also well-kept. The host is so attentive and helpful (도움을 주셔서 감사합니다!). All in all, this is an excellent option for solo travelers who value a good night’s sleep.

United KingdomThe room needs a better air circulation system. The bathroom generated a bit of moisture in the room. I never met the host of the place. It would have been nice to meet him/her.

AustraliaThe walls are thin. The lady beside me liked to have angry sounding calls at 11pm at night. I was glad she snored because then I didn’t feel bad that I snored too. Needs some more hooks in the wall for hanging things- like dresses.
Great location, quiet with a beautiful historic fortress gate just outside the street. Bed was comfy. Some of the bathrooms were very tiny and wouldn’t suit anyone who wasn’t able bodied or small is stature. The room had enough space for grooving in and had your own fridge and hairdryer. Staff were lovely.

NetherlandsThe common areas, and shared kitchen weren't very inviting. Might be nicer in the summer with the garden.
I loved the private bathroom & heated floors since it was quite chilly during my stay. Also the communication of the host was really helpful & considerate, and the location is well connected to the rest of the city, although a bit off the beaten path. Some great food places within walking distance.

BelgiumSince I stayed for more than two weeks I would have liked to be able to change the bedding. I could have done this myself without a problem if I had some spare sheets!
I had the smallest room for my trip of a little more than two weeks. The room is small but for the price it had anything I needed: a good bed, small fridge, small window for air at night and easy to use (floor)heating. The bathroom was shared and at first I was a bit taken a back about how it looked but once you get the hang of it (first you let the water flow a bit until it reaches the temperature you prefer and leave a towel on the floor near the door so you get to dry off your feet at the end) it’s pretty good! It’s less that a euro to use the washer/dryer which works perfectly! Only would have liked some sort of instruction since the buttons were in Korean and my Google translate app didn’t help me understand it as well.

United States of AmericaThe concept of a shared bathroom took some time getting used to (a toilet and a shower is the same area), as I am more used to having a separate shower area, but I suppose it's the norm in Korea.
I stayed in this Airbnb for 4 nights, choosing a room with a shared bathroom and a cozy single bed, perfect for a solo traveler like myself. In early March, Seoul still had a chill weather, and while the main corridor felt a bit too cold for comfort, the room itself was wonderfully warm, thanks to the heated floor. The location was quite convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the train station and approximately 7 minutes from a nearby bus stop. Additionally, the place had a small kitchen, even with Seoul's abundance of incredible dining options, cooking home was not really an option.

Landlord Jina is so friendly and provides everything you need, the room is a bit cold and she gave an extra electric heating mat. Only 5 mins away from 한성대입구 metro station. Clean and comfortable vibe feels like home, price is also way beyond expectations, definitely coming back.

TaiwanThe soundproof wasn't good that other room's snore could be heard, in addition, the light was on the whole night so need an eye mask to fall asleep.

South KoreaI understand that I am in Korea and that USA folks have a different set of wants an needs. I always feel bad when taking a shower and the toilet gets wet. I am accustomed to a shower curtain or separate shower that keeps the toilet dry. That way whoever comes in after me does not have a wet room. It is not a deal breaker for me. I just grew up differently and with a shared bathroom, I feel bad for who follows. My last Korean apartment had this and I was used to it. I showered in one bathroom and used the other bathroom for everything else. That worked for me. While saying this I love white story and would stay there again. It is just a description. I would love a pillow top or those additional fold outs to make the bed softer. Also not a deal breaker. I also want a light switch by the bed to read and not have to get out of bed to go to sleep.
I am a repeat customer. I chose to come back and stay at White Story again. I love the location. The owner is always responsive, thoughtful and prepared to make a guest stay lovely. The rooms are just right. There is enough heat. I am grateful there is a clean kitchen, safe entry and quiet hours. I love the things in the room and the heated floors. I am glad the owner lets us leave our luggage before and after. I know a friend who visited me and she wants to stay at White Story. It is right off the subway line and easy to get to. The owner provides wonderful directions. The detour is perfect. There are great shops, galleries around Seoul city wall. If you leave the building, there is a wonderful bread shop. Leave to the right and not to the left, This bread shop is AMAZING.

SwitzerlandShared bathroom was clean, but a little inconvenient as it was shared by 4 or so rooms and the shower was an open shower in the middle of the bathroom (the kind that gets the whole bathroom wet). No clothes dryer so it took me 2 full days to dry my clothes in my room.
Nice quiet house in a very calm local neighborhood, minutes away walking to a subway stop with easy access to sights. It was perfect for a week’s stay in Seoul. Room was very clean (but note that there is no cleaning during your stay) and floor heating worked nicely.

SingaporeMy room was a bit small and I saw other rooms that were much bigger than mine but that could be due to the type of room I had selected (single without bathroom) but I definitely saw other room layouts which were much more spacious.
White story was perfect for my stay. It was clean, the location was very accessible to Line 2, 5 and 3 which takes you pretty much everywhere you need to go in Seoul. The hospitality of the staff was incredible. I was a bit scattered brain and left a couple of things behind on my long stay there but pretty much the owners safe kept everything for me and was very communicative despite the fact that I didn’t have KakaoTalk. The place is clean and the facilities are more than adequate.
