The aircondition pipes, making noise constantly no matter if you turn on or off the airco in the room (i.e. the installation is passing from above the rooms and works constantly). The breakfast seemed a bit expensive (18 usd per person), so we did not try it. Tip: there is a supermarket with bakery and stuff just on the ground floor in case you want.

The cocktails that we got weren’t very good, they were extremely sugary and tasted really cheap.

We enjoyed everything about the property and literally couldn’t fault it. Me and my boyfriend have been travelling around Mexico and staying in such disappointing hotels, when we got to aloft we were so pleased and relieved! From the moment we got there the staff were so pleasant and helpful. The hotel is exceptionally clean and even though it’s new the level of detail is amazing. The location is brilliant and you have everything on your doorstep including a brilliant supermarket underneath where if you don’t pay for breakfast you can source there. The rooftop pools are amazing, the fact they have 2 is brilliant which helps when it’s busy. The rooms were great and stocked up with everything you need (including a fridge!). Would highly recommend staying here!

In general, It was a really nice stay, but there were two things which were not so pleasant and maybe should change in the future. 1) my first room had a not working air conditioner, so I had to change rooms after unpacking already everything for my two week stay. Some products in the hotel clearly have not a high quality standard since the air conditioner broke down and also the handle of the shower just fell down one day during taking a shower. 2) the hotel has a policy of having to come in every third day to clean the room and exchange all towels and the bed linen. It was explained to me at the front desk that this procedure is mandatory even if you explicit state that you do not need the cleaning. This cleaning policy is in my opinion outdated in face of global warming and creating more sustainable hotels.

The hotel is pretty new and has an excellent location in the center of Playa del Carmen. The staff is really helpful and friendly.

We were an hour early before checkin and couldn’t get into our room. No problem, we left our bags and went into the center. However after we came back 4 hours later, our room was still not ready. This was disappointing.

Great rooftop, nice view, lots of beds and great pool! Hotel is very new, bed was perfect and very big, nice shower! Very good parking facilities. Gym looked very good too.

we paid extra for a balcony room but our view was of an empty lot, probably the worst view I’ve ever had. there was also only one chair on the balcony. definitely do not recommend paying extra for a balcony it’s not worth it. the same view can be seen from the ocean side of the rooftop pool but if you stand back far enough you just see the ocean which is nice. we were also charged more than what was on our receipt and staff was very unhelpful with why that happened so we will have to figure it out with bank

it’s brand new so it was very clean and the aloft brand is general is always very cute decor with a modern youthful vibe. it’s also super close to everything but not so close that the noise from 5th keeps you up at night. the rooftop pool is also very nice with well priced drinks at the bar.

The pool looked very murky when we were there, and there was trash at the bottom of one. Also, we booked here to use the gym especially and the air conditioning was broken. We asked if it could be looked at but no effort was made to fix it over the 5 days :( we paid for laundry and it came back missing a running sock, which the employees did not help too much with

Unfortunately the second night we stayed they ran a AC maintenance mind you the hotel is advertised as a new built the AC unit never came back on we had been out most of the day by the time we came back to the hotel it was late we couldn’t find another hotel since we had a early morning flight. I had to call the front desk to find out that the AC would be out the rest of the night the lack of communication to guest. We did get credit back for the night but the experience ruined our last night it was uncomfortable to sleep. WiFi signal is not the greatest.
