Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The accommodation that provides a towels for the guests is perfect.
The accommodation is in the center of Melaka, so it is convenient for traveling and eating. The dorm-room is small because its for only person but so nice decor and quiet to rest in. Around the accommodation, there are a few shops that can buy anything. No breakfast but have tea, coffee in the kitchen. The receptionist (a cute boy) is extremely friendly and supportive.

No problems
This is one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in. The facilities are excellent, and very clean compared to other hostels. WiFi access is good, along with free tea and coffee in the common area. Comfortable place to base a stay in Melaka - although you probably need only one or two nights to see everything in town.

although it was a little inconvenient that the shower room didn't have any hook but still the overall experience of staying there is amazing.
Its a very decent hostel for travelers. The space Is close to the tourist attractions and is maintained in a clean and tidy condition. I must say the toilet is super clean,

Only minor thing I did not like was the lockers were digital and would make a beeping noise every time someone would open their locker which was slightly annoying at night.
Great hostel, very modern facility, always clean, had everything I needed and a good location.

the laptop at common area cannot connect to wifi, it would be better if the staff can fix it, so that we can use it to do staffs
It is walking distance to mahkota parade and tourism spots, very convenient for solo travellers

Everything was amazing. Bed is comfortable, you have some privacy in your cabin. There's a good locker. Bathroom is good, with separate toilet from their amazing shower. Everything was cleaned daily. If you're allergic to cats, don't stay there as they have some cute ones and would make you feel bad.

they have 3 cats and I love cats and have cats at home, however, I stay there only one night but saw a small pile of piss and a pile of vomit next to my shoes, cats do it all the time but with the floor tiles color, you’re not always able to see it and step on it, props to the staff to always make sure the front desk is clean though, the cats are well taken care of btw
everything, it’s clean, modern, pretty, so spacious, they have a reading room and playstation area, strategic location, nearby the main old town and a mall if you ever need to buy medicine or any necessaries, they still let me use the rest room after checkout so it’s a big plus

The lockers are a great addition but the beeping and noise it makes can be a little annoying when someone is checking in super late or checking out super early.
The beds were big and comfortable. The room was so dark, so you could sleep all day if you didn’t set an alarm. It was within walking distance to all the major attractions. Loads of seating space downstairs and they even had an air conditioned movie room. They offer a water machine as well as tea and coffee and snacks. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were super helpful. They also have a WhatsApp group to keep you informed and updated during your stay.

- compared to other hostels we’ve stayed at there was few toilet and showers compared to how many were at the hostel although only once did we not get a shower but tended to go at random times, if you were going in peak evening may have to wait - could be noisy but probably less noisy than other accommodations
- great location, right next to two big malls which is convenient for everything you need and a ten minute walk to main area - nice common area, useful for work - clean and nice modern feel - staff were generally nice

Make the bathrooms unisex. It’s annoying to have to go to a different floor to use the bathrooms.
A really solid hostel. Great location, clean, comfy and good ac. Easy to meet people as a solo traveller.

Two minor things: everything is digital with beeps (opening lockers, opening the door) which is annoying during the night. They suddenly changed my booking for a female room to a mixed dorm

Amazing hostel. Very modern and nice. The sitting area downstairs feels like a nice cafe. Good, clean bathrooms with plenty of space. The whole hostel is super clean. The pods are comfortable with plenty of space to put your belongings while you sleep and they have lockers for your items too. The rooms also have air conditioning which is nice for those hot days. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

A beautifully designed and stylish hostel with great amenities and lovely staff that go above and beyond to make your stay a good one. Spotlessly clean and right next to two shopping malls and within a short walk to the main attractions.
