Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainHallway smelled a bit and the toilet-shower combo was a bit odd, but makes sense for a little hotel on a boat. Heater wasn’t working at first but a staff member was able to quickly fix it when made aware of the issue

NetherlandsThe room was a lot smaller than expected, but that wasn’t a huge (😜) problem. For me the noise was an issue. The ship is made of steel and the walls are quite thin, so all movement in other rooms, or anywhere is heard throughout the ship. Therefore a good night’s sleep was not possible for me.
The staff is very friendly and they really care about the ship and the guest. They served a simple but good breakfast on the deck of the ship in the sunshine. So the day starts great!

South AfricaThe room did not have coat hangers - not a crisis, but I did notice.
There is something 'retro' about sleeping on a boat, being rocked by occasional waves due to passing boats, and sleeping under a fluffy blanket instead of central heating. Great location for restaurants and the bijou architecture of the old town. Public transport is just one bridge, one plaza, one street and one coffee away! And there is nothing bad about sitting on the deck with a beer that is made across the river either!

IranOne thing to note is that being a heavy sleeper is essential, as the movements of neighboring travelers can be heard quite clearly, especially during holidays when there are many noisy, drunk passengers around. 👀🙄
The location of the boat is ideal, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and polite. While our cabin wasn't extravagant (not that we expected Titanic-level luxury!), it was quite clean and provided a unique experience.

ItalySmall room in need of renovation; a double room has in truth just room for one person. Very little storage available, lack of privacy due to lack of insulation from noise and heat, lack of electric plugs, ‘wet shower’ typical of smaller boats. Breakfast expensive for limited quantity and quality but great Cappuccino.
Great central position Different experience from usual boring hotels Friendly staff. Very good value for money.

United KingdomIt was fine. I was a bit late and quite tired. Efficient check in and off to bed.
It was just what I expected. Clean efficient and exactly as adverised. You could say that the rooms are too small, but I thought that was the point.

United KingdomObviously this is a boat and you're renting a cabin, but the rooms are accordingly small. I also didn't rate the shelf toilets!
The only hotel on the River Meuse in Maastricht, so it's a novelty of a place to stay. The price was very good considering that, and I was upgraded from a single to a double en-suite cabin so there was a bit more room. The station and the centre of Maastricht with shops and restaurants are nearby.

NetherlandsProperty photos don't reflect how tiny the accommodation is. Has a tiny bathroom with a tiny sink with the shower head literally on top of the WC, so everything is wet. The only wall outlet is badly placed. Insulation doesn't exist.
Good location. Unusual setting. Clean linen. Affordable pricing. Rooms heating. Recently refurbished/painted. Cozy creaky sounds from the waves.

United KingdomWe were expecting small rooms, but was even smaller than the photo (the beds were a bit like bunk beds to fit them in). Our room opened to the deck, the nearest communal toilet was down the deck (which was icy and not treated, so v slippery) but wasn't working, so needed to go off the boat and into the downstairs to get a toilet, which wasn't clear when we booked and a bit chilly at -8 degrees in the middle of the night. I don't want to be too hard, I would stay again, but it felt more like a bunkhouse than a hotel.
Boat was quirky, great location, the parking was a bit of a walk, but was really easy. The staff were super friendly and the communal bar was lovely.

NetherlandsThe room we stayed did not have a sink and toilet, so we needed to go to downstairs for wash our face, brush our teeth, and wc.
The botel is located just along the Maas river and it has a nice view from our room (the very front "Captain" room). The bed was very comfortable and we had a good sleep there.

IrelandThe bed.
The boat is cool - I expected the rooms to be small, it is a boat after all… the bed was a little uncomfortable due to the fact there is wood ledge above the mattress I found this uncomfortable- however the boat itself is quite cool. The common area is nice and although the toilets and showers were shared and outside of the room they were clean and surprisingly always available when needed.
