Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThis is a boutique hotel over top of a trendy cafe, there is no traditional front desk. All check ins and checkouts are done thru staff in the cafe. The hotel wifi seems to be shared with the cafe and therefore it is completely overtaxed. The wifi in our room was terrible, almost non existent during the day when cafe was busy.
Comfortable bed, great shower, location was fantastic. Room was spacious and well appointed. Great area for walking, shops and plenty of cafe / restaurant options. Train station is less than 10 minute walk.

United States of AmericaParking is a bit tricky but we were warned about that ahead of time, and the hotel was able to direct us to a parking garage within a five minute walking distance.
Location right by the Dom Church in central Utrecht! The hotel is right by the shopping and restaurant area with lots of choices.

NetherlandsSome parts of the room like fixed furniture could use an update. The door to the toilet was heavy and difficult to open, even as someone young and in good shape, so I imagine it would be very difficult for someone older or less able bodied. There is an elevator, but since it is an old building, it's of a different type, where it has no ceiling and it's basically a platform that goes up and down, and you have to keep pressing a button until you reach your floor, so that took a bit of getting used to.
The location is amazing, very close to the Dom tower, center, and a lot of restaurants. Our room was facing the inner courtyard in the back, which made it very quiet, as well as giving it a nice view. There was a lot of light in the room. The toiletries provided were top quality.

United KingdomAs mentioned friendly staff but could be a wee bit slow on drinks delivery/ breakfast even when very few guests. This may well just be the more generally laid back Dutch lifestyle which I should be applauding rather than moaning about.
Great location. Good rooms excellent value. Friendly staff.

NetherlandsThe loo was very clean but had a slightly weird smell? And there was no toothpaste :(
The room was super pretty and the bed was very comfy. The bathtub was big enough to comfortably fit my 195cm boyfriend so that was extra great. The staff was super polite - one of them was kind enough to explain (very well) how to check-in after they had left and another even let us store our luggage there after check-out the next day as we wanted to explore the city.

United KingdomSome ooms are quite dark in colour, so maybe more lamps/stronger lights would be better suited.

United KingdomWe would have liked some milk for the coffee and a choice of pillow.
Great setting a few steps from the Dom church in an historic area with shops, bars, restaurants and canals. The hotel has recently had a change of ownership, who are making changes. First, the personnel. So friendly and helpful. So far, they have only refurbished the ground floor bar/cafe, which does great breakfasts and snacks, and is a nice place for a drink. Our room on the second floor is due to be refurbished, as it looked a little tired. However, it was a good size, the bed was comfortable, there was a fridge, coffee machine and kettle. Everything was very clean. Nice toiletries. The lift needs a mention - it is old and slow, and very idiosyncratic. But full of character! We look forward to visiting again when the upgrading is complete.

United KingdomSome shy guests may be put off using the bath located next to a window overlooking the street! (even if not visible from below). Non slip surfaces on the wooden steps leading up to the roof terrace would help when the decking outside is damp.
Well-located in the heart of the city. The nearby Dom Tor is a useful landmark for those exploring on foot for the first time. Room 16 is tastefully decorated and the layout of the facilities (washbasin and bath) has a quirky charm. The private roof terrace with its views was an added bonus. Friendly reception and service.

IrelandNot really an issue, better to use the stairs even with a big suitcase since it's an old fashion elevator. Charming on the other ends
Amazing room, confortable bed, pefect for couple with the big bath within the room. The staff was really helpful since we landed there because we missed our flight due to train issues from Tilburg. They helped us to confirm that the train were working normally from there to reach the airport

Germany1. not kids-friendly enough. you have to pay extra for a baby cot and they do not bring it on time or in advance even if you already paid for it. we asked twice. if you're single or just a couple this is a nicely designed room with a certain style. but if you travel with young kids, not very idea. the only sink is next to the bed, so it's hard to keep it quiet when others are sleeping. and no door to the shower: no privacy and easy access to wet floor for kids. 2. not good enough lightening or space for make-up. 3. radiator is a bit slow and not that strong for that it is an old building. 4. no dry cleaning service.
good location, in the middle of the old town. you can walk from the central station. surrounded by nice cute cafes, shops and one laundry shop.

NetherlandsCould do with some small upgrades. The bathtub and faucet were loose. The bed consists of 2 elements which kept coming apart. No glasses in the room to have a drink. Poor quality small tv for such a nice room.

NetherlandsDuring booking it wasn't mentioned that refurbishments were ongoing. Would have been nice to know this upfront. Unfortunately the hotel was a bit noisy. We woke up due to the people in the room above us coming home. Not sure if they were exceptionally loud, but this was quite frustrating.
Nice and comfortable room that is nicely decorated. The bathtub in the room made our day. The nice is spacious and light and offers a lot of room to relax. Very nice gesture the drinks in the minibar were offered free due to the refurbishments going on.

United KingdomThe modern layout of the room was in one way slightly odd: the washbasin looked out of a window what wasn't frosted over, so I felt slightly exposed standing there when shaving, for instance. We kept those curtains at that part of the room closed!
Modern and spacious room with good facilities (ensuite, kettle, hairdryer, iron, TV, and good wifi). Excellent location 50 metres from the cathedral and with easy access to the whole of the city. Staff were friendly and helpful.

BelgiumThe TV was not working and I told somebody at reception. He answered it was the box remote but when I tried again it was impossible to change channels. On Monday morning I found myself in underwear in front of a guy working just in front of my window. They didn’t tell us about any workers who could be there! The sugar jar was not clean.
