Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom??? Sorry, but I can't think of anything atm. Maybe it's not for people who are minimalistic and dull.
Amazing place. An experience, not just somewhere to stay. Ruud is a lovely guy with a GSOH. Excellent location, near to everything, but far enough to be quiet and relaxing. I will definitely go back again.

NetherlandsSuper unique and beautiful space. We loved our room and thought the garden was incredible. The location was great, easy walk to the center of town and the train station. Ruud was a fantastic host, breakfast was tasty, and Hendrik the cat was a sweetie.

United States of AmericaAt night, there were some bright lights from neighboring boats, so I suggest bringing an eye mask if that bothers you.
Big comfortable rooms, a private terrace overlooking the Rhine, and tons of character! We enjoyed listening to the opera records and using the binoculars. It was so memorable that my friend wants to live on a houseboat now.

United KingdomI didn't like the fact that we only had one night to enjoy the house boat - I could have stayed forever!! - and one small thing...the bed could have been larger - but this didn't spoil the stay.
Such a unique place to stay - amazing room felt like we were staying on a stage at a theatre overlooking the river. Breakfast was also superb fresh local ingredients and we got to share ours with the resident cat!

NetherlandsOur stay was absolutely incredible! Ruud is such an inspiring person, a wonderful host and made us feel at home from the moment we entered. Every room was built with a lot of love and it takes some time to find all the hidden and beautiful details. The next day, he woke us with a delicious and local breakfast for a perfect start in the day which you can enjoy on the small private balcony. Would absolutely recommend it and will definitely come back. Thanks Ruud!

United KingdomVoile curtains provided privacy but didn't really keep out the light. This could be an issue for some in the high season but we were so tired that it didn't make much difference to us
Owned and operated by the incredibly friendly Ruud, Drijfpaleis is simply outstanding! A hand-crafted, informal feast for the eyes, every inch of space has been utilised to create the most comfortable experience possible, whilst also being packed full of character, visual appeal and plain fun! Berthed on the north bank of the Nederrijn just 5 minute stroll from the centre of Arnhem, where almost the only sound came from the passage of the river and the local ducks. We loved the location, the unexpected peace and quiet, the vinyl record collection and player ("for the romance" according to Ruud!!), the enclosed deck area with relaxing chairs, the mosquito net around the bed!, and the amazing breakfast of delicious fresh rolls, fruit, cheeses and meats. We followed Ruud's recommendation and ate dinner in town at Eetcafé Sint Jan, less than 15 minutes walk away in town, and weren't disappointed by their great selection of food and drinks. We'd highly recommend Drijfpaleis to anyone staying in Arnhem, especially if you have a sense of fun and you prefer somewhere less formal and more relaxed. We'll be back one day!!

Netherlandscannot find anything we didn't like. not even the smallest unnecessary details. everything was just so perfect and enjoyable. Ofc, the weather was in our favour (perfect summer weather), but still.
This B&B is located just off city centre, on the river. It is "quirky" in a cosy and very homie way. Location good - just outside city centre, by the river Clean - very clean and fresh, you felt at home right away, you didn't feel 500 other guest have passed though this room as well. Host - friendly and nice, we felt very welcoming at the same time he respected our privacy too Breakfast - meatlovers don't get scared for the veggie brekkie. It was super tasty, fresh, plenty, yogurt, bread, jam, cheese, fruits, fresh orange juice. We sat outside on our private terrace, on the river, just wonderful plus points for "open bar", meaning you could fetch your own drinks throughout the day and evening and then in the end leave your payment for the drinks. also plus point, Nespresso machine in the room, for your morning coffees, to be enjoyed outside on ur private terrace This is the best review we have ever given at Booking. We gave full 10 on almost everything. This places ticked all the boxes for us. We would 100% book in us here again.
