Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was some dust throughout the room and the wifi did not work well.
The staff is always very accommodating and even gave me some extra pods when I accidentally dropped them into the coffee machine.

We had a ground floor room. Beds need updating, ok but well used. Bathroom small but shower hot. Little soundproofing from upstairs.
Location close to historic sites. Delicious breakfast, excellent food and service. Historic building with interesting past. Parking nearby, buy parking pass/voucher from hotel

The hotel is older and kind of a maze. A lot of walking within the hotel and not easily accessible.

Are breakfast once but I did enjoy and the location is central it was closer to NL Stenden University were my daughter was starting her university studies.

Bathroom was cold. single use plastic and paper cups for coffee and in the bathroom, not very environmentally friendly and not 4 star. Not good for people with mobility issues, had to drag my suitcase up and down multiple sets of stairs. No good if you have a back problem or other issues. Even the front entrance has steps and no ramp.
Good location, could turn heating down in the bedroom, the view was nice from the window, I was able to not have my room cleaned to be be more green.

Room was clean, the hotel was in the centre of town with easy access to shops and monuments. Wifi was strong enough. The possibilty to preapre coffee in the room was also provided. Personnel was helpful and kind.

My room was less impressive as it was in the attic and the interior of the room and bathroom felt a outdated. There was annoying sound of the ventilation system that could not be turned off.
Very nicely situated in the city centre. Many good restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff. The hotel is stylisch with its high ceilings and beatiful entree.

The furnishings and decor in the room was dated (almost 1960s) and the decor was drab. We were only there to sleep., but nothing there would make us want to stay in longer than necessary.

I have been in this hotel many times, because I travel regularly to Leeuwarden for work. I would assume, that I could get a room for business travellers always, because I need to work also outside office hours. But this time I was located to the old part of the hotel, where was a some kinda living room and whole room was not functional for business travelling. Luckily I got it changed after 3 nights. Wardrobe was also located in the living room. Like mentioned, at least the old part of the hotel is not good. New part is different, it is suitable for travellers like me.
Brekkye is always good here.

My room didn't have air conditioning. If that was a trip during summer, I think I would consider other hotels as well.
Excellent location, good facilities. The value for the price paid was great. I really enjoyed the stay even though it was a short one.

For us it was not convenient taking a shower as the bathtub was too large for us to get into. Also, the bed was too small (my husband is 6'5"). I probably should have mentioned that :)

The restaurant is just OKE. And it was sad that we were eating a main course for 25 euros when people next to us had a social deal offer for 3 dishes for 12,50. The food is just oke - I would not eat there again.
The location and the garden are just amazing. Really convenient. The room is in need of an upgrade.
