Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe hotel parking was difficult to find. Had to get out of the car and go into the hotel to get instructions. Otherwise, it was a great and unique place to stay.
On our drive from Luxembourg to Amsterdam we looked for a place kind of on the way. We decided on Bergen Op Zoom when we found this hotel. Turns out it is the oldest hotel in The Netherlands. It is located on the city square. It's a very picturesque main square and was bustling with people on the Sunday afternoon when we arrived. Lots of places for a beer, a coffee, chocolate and a pastry. The hotel is very nice - since it's so old, it's not a surprise that is is broken up onto multiple levels and corridors. Charming, however. The staff is very good - well trained and helpful. A little formal, but highly professional. They recommended a Thai place for dinner which was terrific! We opted to have the hotel breakfast and glad we did. It was excellent - with a wide variety of pretty much anything you could want.

AustraliaVery confusing building. We weren’t staying in the old building I expected but in a building next door that was accessible via a rabbit warren of hallways.
Well located on the square.

Singaporethere was no hot water in the toilet. Ironing board inside the cupboard took up space to hang clothes. Nextflix was not available yet and limited channels in English. Didn't try the breakfast because it is expensive.
Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The decoration of the hotel was simple and elegant. The location was great.

United KingdomWe found it really difficult to find anywhere to park. The hotel has parking but we couldn't work out how to get to the hotel. Ended up parking a little way away from the square. The staff were all on the phone when we arrived which didn't give the best first impression. The room was OK but the bed was a classic two single beds 'zipped' together - my biggest pet hate of hotels. We booked a double room! Breakfast was good if a little limited. Choice of eggs would have been nice. We saw no-one at all during breakfast.,
A really lovely hotel in the middle of the square. The room we had booked was in their annex out the back of the hotel - a bit of a rabbit warren to get to the room. The location is ideal for exploring the town and near lots of lovely restaurants. We would be back.

CanadaIt gets real quiet in town on their quiet day (Monday).
Great location on the town square. It's a higher end hotel (oldest in the Netherlands) for a good price. Service was good and breakfast was absolutely excellent.

United KingdomDifficult to find a place to park; couldn't find the entrance to hotel's parking.
Beautiful hotel right in the centre of the market square of the quaint town, but still quiet in the rooms. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Highlight was the (paid for additionally) chef's tasting menu in the hotel restaurant; it was absolutely superb (one of the best meals we've had on any trip) and excellent value for money. Great base location for driving/cycling the Delta route.

NetherlandsTo be honest I was really really disappointed not to be in the main hotel. I liked the idea of staying in what is the oldest hotel in The Netherlands and I even specifically changed my booking to a suite - which was clearly in the main old building based on the picture on the website - not in the residence across the square. However, I was given a room in the other building - and it was also not even a suite but rather one - albeit- very large room. It and the bathroom were very spatious and also I would consider was very good value for the money - but it was just not what I wanted or had booked!
Bergen op Zoom is a very nice city to spend a weekend and this is a wonderful hotel situated right in the centre. I ate at the restaurant the first night and it was absolutely fabulous - Michelin star level cookery!
