We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaQuieter place. Lower price given the noise factor and that there was not staff as such.
Although this was a very good location and close to the old city center, it was a very noisy place. It was a very warm evening and so the outdoor patios around the hotel were very busy until quite late. The hotel did, however, provide ear plugs. Coffee in the room was very good. Not sure we liked the electronic keys. One of the waitresses was very good about helping us understand the lack of check-in staff and the electronic key. The bar below the hotel was very old and had a lot of character.

New ZealandSound proofing, we could hear some pass wind, talk and snore. TV never got started, despite everyday someone trying to get it going. When it finally went on the last day, it just went back into no man zone. Smokers were bad, and twice we had to vacate dinning room when a couple came in smelling of the foulest smoke smell. Know you can't do much about that, but it reduced satisfaction.
Breakfast was good, the character great. That there was a restaurant downstairs was excellent

CanadaLocated about 25 minutes walk from train station. Computerized system is confusing at first, but works once familiar with it. No elevator, and creaky floors…but hey, didn’t I say it has tons of character?
Very old hotel, refurbished building. Tons of character. Expected to be visited by the resident ghosts during my stay. OK, basic breakfast. Located on the pedestrian plaza, with many restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from. Access is by a computerized system with a code sent by e-mail. No hotel staff on site, but restaurant staff in building are helpful. Friday Market on the pedestrian mall is great.

AustraliaIf you have limited data connection on your foreign phone, then checking in and getting the key could be a problem. Being above bar/ restaurant could give noice issues as there is no air-conditioning you have to sleep with window open.
Check-in is all contactless by phone, but it worked. In the middle of town. Breakfast was great.

We took a phone charger to the restaurant to make sure that at least our phones were not empty in the middle of the night, so we could not enter our room ( in case personnel hotel already gone ) Only stairs, so do not bring a heavy suitcase

GermanyHanze Hotel sent us a digital key prior to our arrival. For a hotel that seemed to be rather family-run on the website, we saw very few of the staff. That was a bit strange. The rooms are very small, and so are the bathrooms. In my case, toilet, shower and sink were in three different places in the room. This isn't really a problem, but I think the issue should be addressed before one arrives.
The hotel is clean and the location is great. I travelled for business and didn't spend much time in my room, so the size was ok. But if I had been there on a city trip with family or friends, this hotel wouldn't have been a great choice. The breakfast was really nice.
