the doors make a lot of sound even if you try to close them quietly. I think this is a thing that could easily be fixed. The location is nice because it is in the centre, but it is next to a dance cafe and we did hear the music loud and clear which could be a problem for falling asleep.

it was clean and as expected. The people were very friendly

The room, and the whole hostel, was extremely noisy. Even with earplugs I was unable to fully rest because of people merely passing by the room at night. It's an old building so every step is noticeable. The check-in was not described clearly, and I was not welcomed very kindly tbh. The staff I spoke to could be a bit more welcoming when new people enter.

The location of the hostel was great! It's a cute smal hostel and the private room was big, cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms are perfectly clean. There's a kitchen and common room that looked great, but we did not use it so I cannot say anything about it.

Smelly room, noisy roommate, doors are not very sound-proof. Toilet without enough ventilation and always wet

The staff are nice, price is really cheap, very close to city centre and sites. Showering room is big.

Honestly, nothing. I would prefer a key card rather than punching in a door code but I'm probably in the minority of that opinion.

The décor, the vibe and the amenities are all fantastic. The front desk assistant helped me when I got locked out, I'm visually disabled without my contact lenses and I blindly crept around trying to find help. Initially, what was an awfully awkward interaction became benign once the front desk assistant realized I couldn't see. So credit to the front desk assistant for realizing this and making me feel comfortable.

The inmates, the other guests don't care about others. They keep going in and outside the room all night long. I didn't sleep properly. No lights on the bed. In the other hostel that I stayed before had 1 Light at each bed. This one doesn't have. I had to use my celphone torch.

The recepcionist called Junior was superb. Very kind and helpfull. Tea and coffee for free at the kitchen.

It's not even their fault, just city planning in Nijmegen but I was a little taked aback when I went from city-shop street to dark housing street all of a sudden, in a couple steps. (They do solve the dark by having lights installed above the entrance)

The owner is just a really nice guy. It is a very cheap hotel that seems to be of even greater price/quality ratio. It was clear that there is a lot love within and for Hotel Barbarossa

The cute bar is very loud. So are the people in the party room. However, I stayed in the hotel on a Friday night, so I don't know how the situation is on other days.

Very nice kitchen with board games. The hotel is right next to a cute bar.

Washroom downstairs was not clean but luckily there were 2.

The location was perfect, right downtown and easy access by car since the parking garage was just 100 meters away. We traveled as couple, needed to be there in town just for a short visit next morning. Room was comfortable and if you don't mind sharing the bathroom and open for new contacts this hostel is a great place to stay.

Very few restrooms and small ones. Noisy at night. I was trying to sleep and some staff members where talking loudly after 11 pm outside of my room.

Good location. You can walk everywhere. They allowed me to leave my luggage there after the check out. Secure area and secure way to access the building and room.

It had a very student like feel to it. Part of the bathroom facilities are a bit outdated but clean. The beds felt quiet unstable and the walls are thin. So if you are a light sleeper do not forget your ear plugs. Towels can be rented at the reception. Yet these are rather pricey (small towel 3 Euro) and only available from 8 o'clock. So you can better bring you own or rent them at the evening when you have to get up early.

Large common area downstairs. Good location in the city center. The staff was nice. Room and Hostel door worked with a code which is more compared to key or card. The room and bathroom were clean.

Cute private room and hostel but a little too noisy for me

Walls are very thin so it can be noisy especially with the locks for the rooms. Also I could hear music and loud singing for almost an hour in the night and after a long travel day it wasn’t ideal for me. But after 9pm it was more peaceful until the morning so got a decent nights sleep.

Staff were friendly and the bedroom was simple but had everything you needed and was nicely decorated. Bathrooms were clean and modern.

A little overpriced, probably due to a lack of competition in Nijmegen. It's a good, decend, standard hostel with no extra's and friendly staff, but again, the prices are a little higher than you would expect for such a hostel in a city such as Nijmegen.

The staff was very friendly, helpful and 'chill'. The kitchen facilities were a nice extra. The rest of the hostel is very no-nonsense, but the bed was comfy, thats by far the most important part. And the bar next door actually closed at a decent time, allowing for a good night's sleep.

All the doors are rattle quite a lot. Combined with the strong mechanical door closers, this means that even guest who try to keep it quiet at night will inevitably make a lot of noise. And turning off the loud beeping of the code-locks would go a long way as well.

Everything is quite clean, the beds are fine and sheets are provided. Towels for a small fee but that’s not uncommon for a hostel. Didn’t have the time to test the kitchen or the coffee in the morning, but that looked fine as well. The room had some locker, but not enough for all the beds (but not everyone uses so locker anyway).
