The check-in procedure using a tablet is complicated. No data from Booking.com is taken over so that everything has to be filled in manually. The entry mask is stupid having the "Provice" as a "must" field. Then it is not possible to send the check in form as the province is not accepted/recognized by the system. This is an example where electronical check-in is no benefit compared to the paper based one. It takes very very long to check in. Very strange and complicated charging. The guest is first asked for permission to use a pre-charged part amount. Then at check-out again the guest is asked to consent to a further credit card charge. In addition there was an increase of the city tax charged by the city of Amsterdam. We as guests have never been informed. We agreed to pay a specific total amount at the time of booking. Even if this charge comes from the city, it is not ok to be charged additional money without prior information. In room 404 there was a big spider. Having a filtered water tap in the lobby, I would expect from a 4 star hotel charging such an overnight price as of 300,- Eur/person, to also offer sparkling water from a dispenser. The light inside the room is rather weak. The water outward flow/ drainage inside the sink is holding back the dirt water. Only taking out the cover plug helped the water flow out more quickly.

Breakfast was good and diverse. The rooms are clean, there is an elevator. For 20 Euro/day it is possible to have a parking spot in the hotel garage. Filtered water is available in the lobby but tap water is potable.

I did not like the breakfeast buffet because everything was made to far in advance and the eggs has dried out from the heat lamp.

The mob of smokers right at the main entrance you needed to make your way through to enter through to your non-smoking hotel, or leave through. In my country, 🇨🇦, the LAW states no smoking anything within 8 meters of any door or window which CAN open or 10,000 fine and possibly jail. In parts of our country we get -50C, for months, don’t bring up the cold. Many condos don’t permit smoking in the million $ homes people own. Go to the street. Move the smokers!

Mattress bizarrely warm? Not quite sure why. Maybe I run too hot for Dutch beds?

Perfect stay and enjoyed myself immensely. Excellent food and bar, and the pool, sauna, and gym were really nice. The decor and the view of the water is fabulous. There’s a bus stop nearby that goes to the central station every 20min, or you can walk or rent a bike.

My first room during this stay didn't have a water view which was very disappointing, especially after seeing the pictures on Booking.com. BUT I asked for a room with a view and the hotel was able to organise this for the final 2 nights.

The absence of a bidet in the toilet. Although adjacent, the toilet and bathroom were in separate rooms.

The staff were very helpful and super friendly. A big shout out to Puteri who made us very welcome. The room was nice with very comfortable beds. The complimentary and rather unique reusable water bottle was a pleasant surprise. A great gift to remember the hotel by. The breakfast spread was a delight. The hash browns are to die for.

Waited so long for servers to wait on us and to bring check. Also, one night we had some charges on our bill that were not ours and the following night at the malabar we had a drink charge added to our bill that was not ours.

Architecture. Breakfast area as well as breakfast offer: bread is amazing and everything else is top quality. Mattresses, quilts and pillows extra comfy. Welcoming, professional and supportive staff. Cute also the bar on the top floor with good cocktails and music

We were surprised we couldn’t keep the same towels even tho we hung them up. Also our re usable bottle was taken away.
