Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaPerfect location in the heart of city. Can walk everywhere. It is noisy at night with Dom towel bells so suggest ear plugs or white noise. Bed is very comfortable. Nespresso machine was great

United States of AmericaOur only complaint that didn’t pose a big problem for our stay because of the poor weather is that the restaurant that shares the “patio” next door does not clean up the cigarette butts and trash left daily by customers, and some of that trash blows over in front of the property. We mentioned this to the owner, who agreed that it’s a problem—not sure how the restaurant is allowed to not clean and detract from the aesthetics.
The property is nicely situated in the old town adjacent to the cathedral and amidst many shops and restaurants, and is an easy 15 minutes walk from the train station. You can watch all the boats and kayaks on the town’s main canal. There is plenty of coffee and tea in the room, and nice breakfast spots just above the property on the canal. The room is comfortable in all respects. The canal is literally feet from the front door. We stayed 4 nights—unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy, but we were lucky to have such a comfortable living area where we could enjoy our own cooked meals and drinks. The owner was kind to bring us ice on a regular basis.

Loved it! Easy check with the owner in a shop. Immediately loved the room. There was everything we needed, even an umbrella for our walk to a concert. Great shower, bed and coffee! We used P&R Westraven. Which was easy and cheap. 7 minute walk to Tivoli Vredenburg.

This accomodation exceeded all expectations. The photos look amazing but when you're actually there and see the attention to detail, t's just fabulous. We met the host at the souvenir shop who took us down to the room. Such a friendly guy who spoke us through everything we needed to know. He also told us we could contact him about anything else we needed. The weather was particularly warm when we visited so we made use of the terrace and chairs that are available to take outside for some beers in the evening. A perfect way to end a long day being a tourist! The accommodation is right in the heart of old town Utrecht with everything you need on your doorstep. The room itself was spotless. You could smell how clean it was! The bed while soft was honestly one of the comfiest I've slept in. There were plenty of utensils in the kitchen if you felt like cooking and everything was of excellent quality. There was also ample coffee pods and fruit teas which were replenished for us the 2nd day. We were also told we could ask for more in the shop if needed which was a nice touch. The bathroom was well designed and the shower nice and hot. The room was also super cosy which would have been amazing if it had been colder! We've already booked again for next year, we loved it that much!!

PortugalNo complaints!
We loved staying in an old cellar next to the canal. We were in the best neighborhood, right by the tower and lots of restaurants and shops. Super-cute. The room had a small kitchenette so we could have tea in the morning. Very nice place.

AustraliaWe had a lot of trouble finding it. We didn't receive any information on where to go to check-in so we went to the room and luckily one was open. This turned out to be the wrong room! We did find the information on where to go to check in in the folder inside the room though so it all worked out ok.
It was just gorgeous. A perfect little hideaway in the heart of the city.

Location was fantastic right in the middle of shops and DOMunder. Amazing being on the canal. Took so many photos. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Allowed us in a little earlier. Helped us with our bags down the stairs to the canal. Great to sit and have a drink and watch the boats go by.

GermanyOne could hardly find a more romantic location - right next to a canal, maybe 40cm above the water level. There were chairs and a table (and even an umbrella) one could put out in front of the apartment by the canal (we didn't, it was a bit cool). Despite the privacy one felt there, the apartment is also extremely conveniently located - maybe a three minute walk from cathedral and tourist info. My wife said she thought the bed was the most comfortable she'd ever had.

CanadaA little noisy (mostly the geese from the canal & the cars overhead). We managed to sleep through it mostly as our daily activities tired us out.
The location of this spot was amazing. It was great being right by the canal too. Everything was easy walking distance & the place was very clean & comfortable. The owner & staff were very helpful.

United KingdomThe mattress was too soft for us but that’s just personal preference, some new pillows would be good. Didn’t spoil our stay though
The location is excellent and the room is quirky. Excellent choice of teas and some coffee pods provided. The room was clean and loved being able to sit out the front by the canal

BelgiumBecause of it's central location it is quite noisy - the cathedral itself rings every quarter of an hour. Light sleepers sould bring airplugs.
Excellent location right in the city center of Utrecht. The accomodation was in an old warehouse room next to the old canal. You can't do any more authentic than that. It was extremly well renovated, with all the amenities. A good breakfast restaurant litterally next door.
