Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsOur main complaint is that there was some party in the bar downstairs, which no one mentioned to us when we checked in. A crowded bar and music would have actually been no problem at all, but it was unnecessarily (and unreasonably) loud due to some guy screaming into a microphone all night, and the PA system was turned all the way up to 10. We walked by the bar on the way to our room and couldn’t believe anyone could be in there for 2 minutes let alone all night with that sound volume - absolutely deafening. You could hear it already on the street three blocks away (in winter, with doors/windows closed). So we heard it all in our room, 2 floors above, until they finally stopped around 11:30. If that is a regular thing I would certainly ask before booking this hotel! Many other reviews here complained, oddly, only about the church bells - we loved those and slept right thru them.
Nice location in the center of lovely Ravenstein. Cute small room on the top floor.

Friendly welcoming staff who were helpful without being obtrusive. The bedroom was well appointed, relaxing and with a good view over the local area. The meals were excellent with a good selection of local beers.

CanadaThe lights in the room a bit dim (but great for sleeping anyway). The big bed made up of two smaller ones, felt weird sometimes, but the bed was itself comfy.
The room was spacious for a single traveler, I almost didn’t hear people around me (sometimes the toilet flushing), all the toiletries were provided, as well as very nice and clean fluffy towels. You can control the heating in the shower and in the room, it heats up quickly. The area around the hotel is really cozy too, sadly I didn’t have time to walk around more. I’d love to come here more, and would recommend it.

United KingdomLocation good for Ravenstein town but bit of a hike to the station for night out in Nijmegen. Maid banging on door at five minutes to 11am saying it's time to get out rather rudely wasn't appreciated.
Nice clean comfortable room. Check in easy and en suite and TV in room. Reasonable value for money.

Wonderfully authentic location, charming interior, spotlessly clean, silent environment. Note that reception hours are more generous for hotel guests than the opening hours indicated on the door.

NetherlandsVery cosy hotel in an old building with a good combination of old-time ambiance and modern facilities. Very good bed. Very clean. Smart automatic night lights. I would have appreciated a power outlet next to the bed, for charging the phone, but it was too far away. Breakfast was great - a small buffet but with all the essentials, and high quality on the food. Good selection of bread, lovely croissant, scrambled and boiled eggs. Individually packed yoghurt, musli, fruit (covid-safe and cute). Welcoming owner and staff. Also a lovely old village, perfect for a short evening stroll. All in all - yes, I will return and I recommend this.

NetherlandsThey accepted late check out and threw me out at regular check out quite pissed off. The staff informing me was low-key aggressive I felt threatened especially as he was doing this after repeatedly banging the door and not caring that I was almost naked. Would stay away from. Especially close by is a cheaper hotel serving free breakfast too. Sad.
The surroundings are very cared for and there is a small lake in walking distance.
