Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

GermanyThe restaurant has little selection of vegetarian options. But the veggie pizza we had once was really good and on the other evenings we went out for dinner.

United KingdomNo fault of the hotel.but you need to drive or at least have a scooter for this hotel but it's really worth a visit.
The hotel was beautiful with amazing views, The rooms were great and a lovely size the water cooler was very welcomed. Watching the waves on the cliff was mesmerising. The staff were brilliant probably the best customer service we received in siargao.

PhilippinesAwesome view, location, and food! What made our stay most enjoyable was the very accommodating and helpful staff! On top of that- they have a smart and adorable guard dog named Toby (I hope I got his name right!) who sends us off when we go out and makes sure the road is clear of incoming cars/motorcycles.

United States of AmericaI did see the note about bugs in the rooms from other reviews. We didn’t really notice this as a thing. Are there some tiny ants here and there? Sure. But it’s not really a thing to concern yourself with. We were mindful to rinse out our coffee cups and the rooms did come equipped with plug in pest control devices.
Your room feels like a true escape and combined with the views makes it really feel like you’re at a high-end resort. The bathroom (shower is A+), bed and lounge area is perfect, which for us (Room 1) all included a majestic view of the water. One of the main attractions is the infinity pool outside the restaurant that overlooks the water. It’s postcard type viewing, or for most of us now a true Instagram view. I saw a review mentioning breakfast, which is included if you book a room, was subpar but I wouldn’t say that. You get your option of entree (believes it’s at least 8 options) and then coffee or juice from another variety of options. Maybe the food isn’t going to blow your mind, but it’s still quality and that combined with the setting makes for a really memorable breakfast.

One of the best places I've ever stayed at. Ever. There were some little things in the room you would consider a con (weak shower pressure, little moths in the bathroon etc.). But these are small stuff I can overlook considering how spacious the room is and the view you get. The standout for my stay however is the customer service of the staff. A special shoutout to Cris and Jessica for going above and beyond in making sure my needs were met. Every morning the staff asks you how your stay is and what your plans for the day are so that they can organize things for you. As a paying guest, I'm happy they have a 500 pesos consumable charge for outsiders as this prevented the restaurant from being too overcrowded (the reason I avoided General Luna in the first place). So if you want to be cheap, go stay at General Luna with the swarms of other backpackers. To me it was worth paying extra if it meant I got some peace and quiet time. I will definitely be back!

PhilippinesPool is a little cold but still enjoyable. There was a musky wet smell in our room that you adjust to after a bit of time but whenever you come back to your room it really hits you. No deal breakers or anything that really hindered our stay.
The staff, the food, the view and the value for money was exceptional. We stayed for 4 nights and barely left the premises to just chill out and enjoy the stay. The food was too good to pass up on and the views are beautiful. You can see the coming and going of day trippers to come have lunch and get some photos by the pool. Special shout out to Chris, Tan, Jessy and Rye for their exceptional service to us, it really just made our stay all the more amazing. Also to the staff we didn't have contact with behind the scenes. Gym facilities were pretty good for a hotel gym while overlooking the ocean you can't really beat it. Overall if I get the chance to come back to Siargao, I will definitely be staying here again.

PhilippinesI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this fantastic hotel! The breathtaking view, combined with the well-appointed rooms and delightful cuisine, made it truly worthwhile. The management, particularly Manager Arman, was incredibly accommodating, ensuring all our needs were met. Special thanks to the attentive staff, especially Chris, for going above and beyond to accommodate my requests. Despite a last-minute change preventing me from attending the prepared romantic dinner, the overall experience was the highlight of my Siargao stay. Without a doubt, I look forward to booking another stay here in the future.

New ZealandThe proximity to the sea is clearly taking a toll on some of the structures and equipment at the hotel, for example some of the gym equipment was not working or not working as well due to rust. There were also some decking around the pool that was warping and beginning to stick up which could potentially be dangerous. This wasn't really an issue for us, but maintenance of small things do help a hotel really feel more like 5* luxury. I would have loved to have had a pod coffee machine in the room as well instead of instant, however the coffee included in breakfast was a good alternative.
10/10 staff at Trogon's Porch. We had some issues with our motorcycle rental (which were all our fault) and the staff went above and beyond to help us sort this out so that it didn't ruin our holiday and got us going again within 24hours. We ate in the restaurant several times and really enjoyed the meals, particularly the included breakfast. They were really tasty and a good portion size. A special thanks to the food and beverage staff for making us sandwiches when we missed the breakfast on our last day there due to an early flight, totally unexpected and very much appreciated! We really loved how spacious the rooms were and that there were a number of places to sit and relax in the room and across the hotel. The view was also fantastic from our room, and we loved waking up to the sunrise through the windows and having a morning drink on the balcony. The proximity of the hotel (about 5 min walk) to Pacifico Beach was a big plus for us as well, as we didn't have a surfboard rack on the motorcycle.

GermanyThe walk-in restaurant guests with their tik tok shoots are fun to watch, but the flying drones (sometimes two or three at once) past our rooms with glas window were a little bit disturbing. It’s not the fault of the Hotel owners… people sometimes lack a sense of privacy.
I wish I could wake up at Trogon’s for the rest of my life. The view is perfection - I needed nothing but looking on the mesmerising Pacific Ocean in front of the balcony. And for surfers it’s a gift, because the best surf spot is right underneath the resort and wave checks are easy :) We enjoyed our stay so much, particularly because of the sweet, friendly and sooo lovely funny staff! The team does an amazing job. The new restaurant Sausalitos offers delicious meals, we tried almost every seafood dish including the lobster which was soft and buttery :) They set a romantic dinner table for us and we felt sooo special.

To set up the scene: we visited Trogon's Perch September 2023 (low season) and stayed there a little over a week. I do not know where to start with listing all the positive things about this place, so let's go with the order of appearance :) 1. Location: The hotel is located literally 2-3min walk from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. There are a couple of local restaurants nearby (all of them really nice!), surfing lessons are also just around the corner. It's a perfect place to disconnect, with no crowds, empty beach, small to none traffic and super friendly locals. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning! The rooms are directly facing the sunrise and ocean, from the 360 restaurant you can see the nearby cliffs, beautiful beach and palm tree forest. I must admit that even though being in a lot of places this was simply amazing. Not to mention the infinity swimming pool which was always clean and pretty much empty :)2. Owners and staff: both Michael and Annie are incredibly open and hospitable persons. Usually in hotels like that you don't have a chance to meet the owners, but they are there, helping the guests with advice about the places to visit, sharing information about the island and overseeing that everything in the hotel runs perfectly. The staff is top notch, especially Cris who was super friendly, responsive and able to organize everything you might need, from scooter, surfing lessons to the excursions. Overall 10/10 :)3. Rooms: Super clean, very specious, with stunning view and decorated with great taste and attention to details! I would not change anything there! 4. Hotel restaurant: we had a pleasure to be there when the restaurant was being refurbished. It now offers great fine dining options of fusion Spanish cuisine using Filipinian ingredients for (given the views and quality) very decent price! Must try!5. Surfing: as Siargao is all about the surfing!
