Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I dislike the shower with the push timer knob the shower water also very low pressure / small. They ask for 6 Eur for deposit and charged me 2.5 Eur for left luggage after checkout time
Love the location, walking distance to almost all city points of interest. Very near to the tourist spots. Awesome facilities, staff was awesome and love the common space at Mezzanine floor

I made reservation for 8 beds female room. They upgraded me for 4 beds female room. But at the end it was 4 beds mixed. I woke up late in the night with male voices. That was not nice. The room was to hot The shower and the bathroom were not really clean.

The location is not one of the bests spots in Lisbon, because is a bit far from downtown. Besides, there is a subway station really near the hostel. But the worst part of the experience is that they don’t have a kitchen to you prepare your own meal, or fridge to keep your stuff.
The hostel is clean and comfortable. Staff is super friendly and professional.

The room door was hard to close & unlock. Needed some force & energy in both the cases. The room light switch is also a bit unstable (you have to press it hard to ensure it stays on)
I enjoyed the comfort of the bed & the location of the hostel (very accessible by Metro & located in one of the safest & walkable areas of Lisbon). The people at the check-in counter were nice, helpful & professional

For a large hostel it was great value no real complaints
Beds were comfortable and had curtains which is good for privacy in shared room. The facilities were kept clean.

long queue for check-in and out. The shared room is too small, even couldn't open my luggage. Neighbors were too noisy. Showers are not convenient, should keep pushing the buttons to open the slow water

Obviously, being in a hostel, you won't have that private space & bathroom privacy, so I guess if I were asked to give a demerit, thats the only thing that would be on my list
I liked the location this place was in, and the check-in procedures were fairly straightforward. Definitely recommend coming here, if you're on a budget

There was not much of a social area in the hostel and the rooftop bar was closed during my stay.
Great location, close to town and everything for tourists. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I was surprised it was a double bed, so lots of space! It was quiet in the hostel and the housekeeping did a great job of keeping all the common areas and bathrooms clean.

It is a hostel and on the floor we had a Spanish school group who were chatting loud during night hours, doors were slammed. Pickpocketing attempt in the staircase picking my wallet. Going down stairs with school class crowd. Be aware and secure your valuables. It would be nice if the check in counter could provide a weight measurement device to weight the luggage for guests flying out from Lisbon. Advice to go to pharmacy was not very helpful.
The private room was done every day and new towels which was very nice. A fridge in the room and water cooker. Great private bath room. Nice staff which helped. TV didn’t work first evening and after communication it was fixed. Great location!

The breakfast area/ room was often messy and unclean. The reason for that could be that there was only one staff member responsible for the breakfast area.
Excellent location, the interior looked new, the staff was youthful and friendly, lovely rooftop lounge area.

bring earplugs and you'll be okay - 18 year old kids come in groups
Ines is a wonderful person who will help you find amazing dinner down the street, just ask! Very happy staying here. Great location to walk downtown.

The shower has to constant press the button for the water. The room was very stuffy and a bit hot as the air-con was turn off at night and the room was small. Sound proof was weak. The hair dryer has to ask the reception which is not very considerable, it does not come to people’s mind as long as they need to dry their hair
Location is very good. Just cross the metro station.
