Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

In-room screen could have been better
The hotel makes an effort to provide something extra with a local touch. Can especially see this in the bathroom tiles, from local stone in well-composed colors, and the variety offered at breakfast is special! Greatly appreciated the breakfast dropped in the room for the early ferry departure.

Our room type was a Standard Double Room, and it was truly spacious, cozy, and beautiful. The breakfast was the highlight, making it our best accommodation experience throughout the entire Europe trip!

Absolutely nothing!
The hotel was so clean and we loved the boutique feel. The reception staff were very helpful. The Jensen bed was really comfortable and the pillows and bedding lovely. The power shower was phenomenal! There was lots of choice in the buffet breakfast - including delicious little pots of overnight oats and chia pots, fresh crusty bread and lovely scrambled eggs.

The hotel closes 20:00. If you need something after that, you are in trouble. For the price, I was expecting more.

Hotel doesn’t take cash! Weather was cool/cold (for summer), wet & windy!
Good breakfast, no espresso but filter coffee strong and good. Could walk everywhere in the old town. Medieval festival fun if a bit soggy. Good laundry just outside main tourist area. Great help from reception staff.

A note to those who don't like loud nighttime events at nearby bars: while it didn't bother us, if you are sensitive to boisterous drinkers and loud music, ask for a quiet room. Also, be careful of broken glass on the walkways and streets. Visby does clean it up but if you walk in the morning, be careful.
Josef was very helpful as was the young lady at the front desk.

We were promised individual air condition units in each room. There is NO AIRCON - only heat regulation. Due to the warm summer night we had the windows open - and there were load noises from the nearby bars and restaurants - as well as drunk people passing by. No secure parking available close by for neither car or bikes.
Excellent location in the vicinity to the port and the old town. Nice rooms. Good breakfast - though with limited selection.

The room and bathroom were clean, cozy, and fresh. The breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. The hotel is close to the seaside and ferry terminal and is located inside the old town walls, so the location is very convenient.

Wine on the table that was not included in the price. You have to open a flyer to find out about it. We used to stay in some places that had complimentary drinks so this was a bit confusing to us since there was also a minibar in the room.

The personal was very nice and upgraded our room. The bathroom felt luxurious, the bed and everything in it was very confortable, the room had also good design. The breakfast was very good as well.
