Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Ellen at the front desk was delightful and very helpful throughout our stay, answering many questions with patience and accuracy. Her assistance definitely made our visit much easier and more enjoyable. Breakfast was a huge buffet with a large variety of hot and cold items. One could eat outside or inside, but if you eat outside don’t leave your food unattended due to friendly birds. There are about 12 free parking spaces in front of the hotel as well as free parking in the neighboring street. If there is no free parking, there is for-pay parking behind the hotel, paid for at the front desk. Our room was clean and met our expectations. It included a nice balcony which was unexpected where we enjoyed our takeaway pizza Al fresco. The hotel is located steps from the Visby medieval wall so it is very easy to walk into and from town to visit the sites and eat. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

AustraliaThe staffs limited English made it difficult at times. We ordered a breakfast pack the night before as we had an early ferry the next morning. Our meal pack order wasn’t received by the kitchen staff. Created an uncomfortable conversation that morning as the morning staff could not speak English. Lucky I knew some Swedish.
The location was great close to the ferry terminal and east walking distance to Visby old town. It was very comfortable.

United States of AmericaParking is very limited. If you don't need a car to tour the rest of the island, I would recommend not getting one or renting one for just the days or times you need it. There are lots of taxis available and a couple of rental car locations within walking distance. There are only a few spaces belonging to the hotel in the front that are free, (and usually full) otherwise there is a small lot behind the hotel owned by another party that charges by the hour and it can get expensive if you need to park there for longer periods. There is no "daily rate."
Great location close to the center of Visby and a short 500m walk from the ferry terminal. Close to everything without being in the middle of everything.

FinlandThe bed was a bit too firm for my tastes - but that is admittedly a matter of taste.
Comfy, spacious room with a lovely city view. Very close to the habor and the old town. Friendly staff, great selection at breakfast, and I was able to check in very early! Overall, I was very happy with my one-night stay and thought this hotel offered good value for the money!

GermanyThe chairs in the room were uncomfortable.
The room was very large, the bathroom was good size, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Decor was attractive. We liked the private balcony outside the room. The location was excellent, just outside the city wall, also close to the ferry terminal.

SwedenBathroom smelled a little bad. The two mattresses in the bed were sliding. The room’s interior design could have been more modern (in comparison with the super modern lobby)
Good location. Not too far from the city center, but very peaceful. Great breakfast buffet. A lot of options. Friendly staff.

FinlandThere was no safety box in the room.
Best Western Solhem Hotel is located just outside the old city wall of Visby. It is near the centre and above the harbour but still very peacefull during the night. The breadfast buffet was excellent with many delicious cold and warm choices. The rooms were more modern and clean than the house looks like from the outside. We had a beautiful view to the sea and sun set.

SwedenThe poor environment in the corridors and the rooms for breskfast
It was nice! Staff, cleanliness, location, beds. But it was clear that the rooms and the whole hotel are from the 90ties-a kind of sad air of ”lets try to just keep on with this” The yellowpainted walls in a 90style, the poor no-one-has-bothered-to-concider-the-furniture-and-decorations because the customers are to poor to notice or bother. Breakfast was outstanding!

FinlandThe hotel was a bit outdated and old in some parts. You can see it’s an old hotel. Still, everything was clean and working.
Great location with the city within easy walking distance. The breakfast was really good - one of the best ones in a while. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was cozy and clean - some parts were in need of a renovation/redoing but some parts had been modernized (interior in the common areas etc.).

GermanyLate check in after 2300 requires to inquire extra, as there is no more staff, so you need to be informed of the door code. My written inquiry got no reply, so I had to call the hotel. However, staff is very reliable, I found my envelope with the room key exactly at the location where advised. Until then, I was a bit tense whether things would work out as advised. Yes, it did. But my being tense is something that males me uncomfortable.

RussiaI had a bit higher expectation because of the pictures and the price. The room, in my opinion, needs some renovation. And there was loud music outside sometimes, that we couldn't avoid even if we close the window.
Breakfast was amazing! And we had the view to the sea from our room. We could watch beautiful sunsets. Location is very convenient.

AustraliaSome rooms are now getting quite old and require some updating.
The hotel is ideally located, just on the outside of the Visby wall. Therefore, you’re close to everything but not in the crush of the old town. The hotel has a good breakfast and a sauna.
