Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe building and its facilities inside seems to be a bit wobbly. Apparently the area will be "transferred" due to expanding mining activities and this seems to cause lack of maintenance inside the building as well. Which is understandable.
Breakfast was superb. Best breakfast during our holidays in the nordics. We could check in a little earlier than originally planned. In the confirmation email the hostel notified us there is a shuttle service from the railway station and airport.

AustriaFirst of all: One has to consider that the prices at my stays were way lower than at other places in Kiruna. Location is next to the abandoned part of the town (an interesting experience) and the staff told they need to close after summer as the town is moving. It therefore is understandable that everything is a bit run down. But everything is clean and the breakfast buffet offers a lot. Sauna is a plus. I also got a room upgrade on both of my stays here, as they were not fully booked. Would book again, it's a pity Kiruna will loose this budget accommodation option soon.

SingaporeLocated in the old Kiruna town, so other than the Kiruna Church that is right down the street (2 min walk and good view of it from hotel's breakfast location), there are no other shops that you can visit other than a supermarket, and a restaurant/bar 10min walk away (Hotel Bishops Arms). To eat other food, you will need to take the bus to the new town. Some shops reported to be open on Google Maps were unfortunately not open.
Helpful staff, clean and spacious hotel room. Was given a free upgrade from the hostel room to a double hotel room, and had a great stay there. Washing machine, dryer and kitchen (microwave, stove, fridge, oven all available) for free. Free drinks like hot chocolate and tea at the reception which was great for a cold day. Bus interchange is right beside the hotel which gives good connectivity to attractions like the new town, or ice hotel.

SwedenThe room is a bit small. No good hanger in the toilet.
Breakfast was excellent with the wide range of choices. Location is great to connect with the bus station nearby where you can catch the transfer bus for free of charge to the train station.

South AfricaThe room was a little small, but that's okay. They have a luggage room if you needed to leave your luggage there before check-in, but it's very small and wasn't able to be locked either.
Room was nice and clean. The bed was really comfortable and the shower pressure was good. Good location with quite a few shops and restaurants within walking distance. We could walk to a nearby park at night to go see an amazing display of the Northern Lights! Exceptionally good breakfast! Beautiful church right across the road.

AustraliaVery little to do locally, and hotel no longer offers lunch and dinners, so options are very limited.
Located in Old Kiruna so life of facility is limited, and there is now very little in the vicinity as most have relocated to the new Kiruna. Nice to be able to experience this, and it is close to the old church.

GermanyEndured a challenging night at the Dorm. The room was cramped, with a particularly noisy ventilation system. Limited space and only small lockers available.
Enjoyed a well-balanced breakfast with a diverse selection, regularly replenished. The option to pack a breakfast bag is available for 85 SEK. What stood out was the delightful surprise of a room upgrade. Great experience!

NetherlandsThe shared bathrooms could be renovated a little more, especially the shower. But it was clean, just very old.
Super breakfast for the money, and even not considering that it was one of the best I've had in an hotel. Super friendly reception (I think their name was Elliot) and they made us felt so welcome after a long journey. Everything was very clean.

NetherlandsI think this Was an amazing hostel/hotel but they are closing in October and stopped fixing major things like the broken elevator. The place is nice but really needs a renovation and is not getting one, since they are closing because of the Kiruna move. Lots of things are hanging on by a thread or broken or a bit old and dirty looking. Good to know I think that you just have to deal with some old and broken stuff.
Very nice staff, great breakfast (even gluten free bread), clean rooms (but old and broken), everything you need is there. Including a little shop.
