One of the most important things for me besides comfort is the cleanliness and unfortunately the room was far from that. The floor and the furniture even around the bed were full with dust but I was more disturbed by the toilet, which had spots and „left-over“ marks plus dry urine spots on the floor in front of it. That’s an absolute no go. We cleaned the toilet quite well ourselves before using it. The second thing is the amount of emails the accommodation send. It’s nice to get extra info prior to the visit, but it felt like too much and nothing was on English so anyway I couldn’t understand it. To copy and paste every email to google translate is not convenient at all.

A perfect low budget stop on the way between Årjäng and Stockholm with an easy fast access to the highway. Everything looked quite new, modern and the view from the terrace to the lake was just amazing. The room is really well equipped with everything one need to even cook for itself or warm up food.

This is a staff-less hotel and you must contact Lannalodge, the parent company to enact payment and access. This is not made clear at the point of booking on Booking.com- We had to make several calls and the information was not readily given so one had to find things out as you went along. This was stressful. Comfort-wise the room was cold and it was a very cold day. My husband exited his room at 3pm but felt it would have been uncomfortable to overnight there. On Booking.com it states there's no parking, but there is parking. The traffic is loud from the main road, but this is not the lodge's fault. The Lodge provided ear-plug in the room, so a longer stay is not advisable.

We used the Lakelodge as a day stop because one of us had an operation at Karlskoga Hospital, so we only needed the room for a couple of hours with our dog. The Lakelodge is easy to find, and the room was a good size, clean and had a nice view. Good places for walking a dog also. The bathroom was generous and warm with underfloor heating as it was a very cold day. The price of the room was excellent value for money, and for a day stop, this is a functional hotel. We did have some investigation to do with access etc, which I will explain in "Not Like", but the staff at Lannalodge, both Sandra and Carina were very pleasant and did their best to help us and organised an early entry at 12pm. We left the lodge at 3pm.

It was vey noisy at night from the cars on the highway, unfortunately. One of us was fine and managed to sleep through it quite alright, but the other one of us kept waking up throughout the night even though the provided earplugs were used.

Beautiful view from the room, a cosy patio and a nice lake to swim in. Very clean and neatly organised room, with all the kitchenware we needed. Comfortable beds.

In several appliances, including water heater, there were blinking lights at night that could not be turned off. In adddition, lights outside the hotel (including balcony light) could not be turned off, and the curtains/blinds do not cover it properly. For adults this is an inconvenience that perhaps could be addressed, but for a small child it means they are constantly woken up and do not sleep. For a hostel at the roadside, who take such care of addressing the road sound, the basics of a DARK room at sleep is at the very basic. Interestingly for us, this problem was not at a previous room (although the rooms appear very similar). The result of this was that nobody in the family slept more than 45 minutes the whole night. So in the end, the thing you think I should care about don't matter. We didn't sleep. Because we couldnät get the room dark because of appliances/settings on lights that we could not influence.
