Booked 2 superior double rooms with balcony, but only one was with balcony. No-one at night to help at solve problems that arise , eg. when the air conditioning broke down. Restaurant staff were so nice to try help with solving problem, but lacked expertise.

Rooms were large. Bed comfortable. Chromecast to connect own streaming services to smart tv.

Huge Props! Unexpected good luck from an accidental booking! We had just landed in Kalmar and popped into the Booking.com app to find somewhere to stay. It was the end of the day and we were tired. After booking (a rare non-refundable room given the lateness of our booking), we realized it was not actually in the city where we were...but a smaller town that was a 16 minute train ride away. But some things were meant to be. It was a welcome oasis... far better than any hotel we were finding to stay at in Kalmar. And the staff was absolutely the best! They stayed and waited for our late arrival (NOTE: they don't man the reception desk in the evening and overnight!), and then stayed even longer and chatted with us as we 'landed' in an unexpected location, having no idea where we were. My daughter became ill in the night... and they did everything they could to help make us comfortable early the next morning. Fresh towels, ice, and even a note to the nearest medical clinic just in case. The hotel was reopened in Nov 2020, so the remodeled interior with a nod to art deco is still really fresh and clean. There are some nice features to enjoy as you lounge in the entry, or even in the dining rooms. Special thanks to Amadeus in the restaurant, Jonas from the kitchen, Ulrica at the desk, and the morning breakfast waiter who's name I didn't get. They really took care of us... and because of that we decided to stay one more night. It was such a quick and enjoyable train ride to Kalmar that we can really recommend this as a great alternative just a short skip away.

1. The hotel reception is only open during work hours and closed on sunday so you have to download an app to get access to the room. I spent two days trying to get access to the app, very frustrating. 2. When I arrived, the room my app had given me was not ready, thus I had to call an emergency number to get someone to come to the hotel to help me. I had travelled since 3AM and just wanted to go to the room to rest. 3. Unless you advice, noone cleans the room, empty garbage etc. 4. The TV didn´t work at first, it was fixed the next day. 5. The desk is a miniature one... not at all suitable for work.

Amazing hotel, staff was very helpful and super friendly! We attended the IM in Kalmar and they opened the breakfast extra early for us athletes! We will come back next year!

If anything, the price was a bit high. Not horrible, but not a cheap hotel. it was however reflected in the quality of the facility and the Service. So not a big issue.

The property must have been renovated very recently. Excellent air conditioning and a descent restaurant. Not Michelin food, but the value for money were good.

The room was perfect, newly renovated and with air conditioning, which helped with sleeping during the summer heatwave. Breakfast was good, served to the table to comply with Covid recommendations.
