Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Just about everything. Really enjoyed walking the property and hanging out with the reindeer. It was nice having both breakfast and dinner included and the first night we got in late and the staff saved some of the dinner for us.

NorwayVery nice and cosy place in the middle of the forest and yet very close to attractions like ice-hotel and open air saami museum-just a short ski tour over the lake. Pleasant and helpful staff, cosy cabin and good sauna. Feeding reinsdeers in the morning is a sweet experience :).

MexicoWe loved everything !
We had an excellent stay. All the staff was super friendly. Tulla helped us get tickets to go to Narvik since the train wasn't working those days. Christoper was very kind to us as well. We were able to feed the reindeer 3 times and also made slide experience which we loved it . Good and fresh breakfast in an authentic ambiance, beautiful set for dinner close by . We also loved having a fireplace in our cabin and the restaurant. Also Chistopher came and set a bonfire outside the cabins so we can have a chat with other guests! We highly recommend this hotel !

Polandnothing to complain about
This place is absolutely special. Very cozy huts with fireplace, set at a lakeside/riverside, close to Jukkasjarvi but at the same time far enough to be surrounded by beautiful nature. Toilets and showers are in separate buildings, but they are warm and very clean. Reindeer feeding at 10am was a particular highlight, my kids loved every second of it. Very good breakfasts and exceptional dinners served in Ovttas restaurant by Sami museum (we got transported there and back by the staff every evening). Helpful and welcoming staff helped us with getting to the lodge despite our late arrival and even dealt with the issue of my forgot glasses. Moreover, this is a great place to watch the northern lights! If I ever get the chance to travel to northern Sweden again, I will definitely stay at the Reindeer lodge!

AustriaOur stay at Reindeer Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff was incredibly helpful and always available, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The setting of the lodge was magical, with its cozy atmosphere and tranquil surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to participate in the reindeer feeding each morning with the staff. It was a truly unforgettable experience. The meals at Reindeer Lodge were another standout feature. Prepared with only the freshest local ingredients, breakfast and dinner were nothing short of amazing. From the extraordinary staff to the cozy setting and delicious meals, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway.

It was cozy, clean, and a wonderful way to support and learn more about Sami culture.

United KingdomShared toilets and showers were a bit out of my comfort zone, but you do get used to it. I would have preferred more privacy. It actually wouldn’t stop me from visiting again though.
Loved the staff and the location of the property. Having the opportunity to feed the reindeers in the morning was a lovely touch. There’s a shuttle bus that can take you to cultural centre (10min walk from ice hotel), so that was very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. No wifi in the rooms but my uk mobile includes free European data roaming that was accessible in the area.

GermanyEspecially in winter it's a really special place... way out in nature in a forest at the edge of a frozen lake. Absolutely beautiful! The houses are very cute and comfortable and feeding the reindeer in the morning was an amazing experience. When we were there the outside temperature dropped to -31 °C which was too much for the small electrical heater unit, but the amazing staff helped us build a good and long-lasting fire to keep us warm in the evening.

United KingdomWe spent our last two nights of a week's holiday at the lodge and we're so pleased we did! Right on the edge of a frozen lake (well it's actually the River Torne), it feels nice and remote but only a 10 minute drive from Jukkasjärvi (or 20 minute walk across the lake). All the staff were super lovely, especially Laurie who looked after breakfast (which was fab, especially the moose meatballs) and also hosted the reindeer feeding every morning at 10am which my wife especially enjoyed. The cabin we stayed in (Brown) was small, but was fine for a couple of nights, and I loved getting the fire going in the stove each night (there were also two electric heaters which we turned down before leaving the cabin to get the full effect of the fire when we came back!). Toilets, showers and a sauna were only a short walk away (well lit at night). The Ice Hotel takes about 40 mins to walk to if you stay on the ice all the way there - a lovely walk. Included was a main course each night in their restaurant in Jukkasjärvi which was amazing - they ran a minibus there and back, although we chose to walk back across the lake on our last night which was great. The staff there were also lovely, and I cannot recommend the cloudberry G&Ts enough! We're already talking about going back which says it all!

SwitzerlandCleanliness of the cutlery and in general
Prime location next to the frozen lake, in the beautiful forest and just over a 15’ walk from town. You truly are in the wilderness (there’s moose around) The sauna was really nice Very rustic facilities but there’s all you need. The fireplace in the cabin was definitely a highlight Everyday guests can participate in the second reindeer feeding after breakfast, which was amazing Most of the staff is taking care of the reindeers, that’s their main focus which we loved. The cabins are kind of a side hustle which makes you feel not like a guest but more a visitor. Dinner at the museum which was a wonderful 15’ walk across the snow. If the sky is clear this is surely a great place for watching Aurora.

United KingdomWe returned to the Reindeer Lodge seeking more magic, and boy, did we find it! Swapping the Superior Chalet for the Chalet (simply to experience both options, and both turned out to be just as good!), we enjoyed crackling fireplaces, reindeer sightings galore, and those incredible dinners (still dreaming of that salmon!). The staff continued to impress with their warmth and cultural knowledge. And the shower building? It wasn't just a washroom – it housed a heavenly sauna, the perfect post-exploration treat. Two stays might not have been enough, but they were undeniably perfect. Unfortunately, we may be short on interior photos because we were too busy soaking in the charm, which, trust us, photos simply can't capture. We would definitely recommend the Reindeer excursion for a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Until next time, Reindeer Lodge! Sandra & Filip

United KingdomUnfortunately, we didn't rent a car. Although the staff were always kind enough to drop us to the Sami museum/restaurant, the place is quite remote, and the taxis are expensive, so if you plan on moving between Jukkasjarvi and Kiruna, it is a good idea to come by car if you can!
Sandra and Filip here, still smitten with the Reindeer Lodge after our magical stay! We originally planned to stay just one night, but let's just say, two nights later, and only pre-booked trips elsewhere dragged us away! (If we could, we would probably still be there now!). From the warm welcome at reception to the moment we spotted reindeer frolicking right outside our window (yes, Reindeer!), this place had us hooked. The staff? Superstars! Every single one was friendly, helpful, and so knowledgeable about Sami culture. We wanted to shout out each name, but seriously, everyone deserves a standing ovation! The two rooms we tried, the Superior Chalet and the Chalet, were both gems in their own right. Charm oozed from every corner, making it hard to pick a favourite. Breakfast in the cozy reception, complete with a crackling fireplace and followed by reindeer feeding, were a highlight. Then came dinner... wow! We ended up eating at the Sami Museum (part of the Lodge) every single night, even when we ventured to other hotels! The included dinners were a delicious bonus, and the food (major props to the chefs!) was simply phenomenal. Add to that the warm atmosphere, crackling fire, and -20 degrees outside? Pure bliss! And did we mention we loved that the Lodge is Sami-owned and (largely) staffed? Learning about their rich culture was fascinating and eye-opening, once again thanks to the friendly staff. Reindeer Lodge, you stole our hearts! Thank you from the bottom of our mugs (filled with Sami hot chocolate, of course!). We'll be back, you can count on it!

SpainMy husband and i went in our honeymoon, and, staying at reindeer lodge is beyond words. Being surrounded by reindeers, its nature, the tranquility of the place, and of course, its disconnection... makes it a magical place. The staff is a team that transmits a very good relationship between them, they are attentive, fun and very close. They are at your disposal for anything you need and always welcome you with a smile. We had fantastic conversations and we also learnt a lot. The treatment is very human and very close. One of the days I lost a glove and one of the staff lent me ones until I got a new pair. All the food they make is spectacular. It is certainly an adventure that the showers are outside the room, but honestly, it makes the experience even more enjoyable. The views, the atmosphere, the place, the culture, it's all incredible. My partner and I dream of returning one day. It has been the trip of our dreams, it will be an experience very hard to beat. We will never forget it.

AustraliaFirstly - if you can't live without Wifi, then you'd be best just to stay at home - this is not what Reindeer Lodge is about. If you're after 5 star accommodation, then find somewhere else because staff are not here to be at your personal beck and call. Staff at Reindeer Lodge are amazing - we always felt welcome and part of the family. Our room, although small, was very cosy and clean. To keep the park an authentic experience, there are 2 communal (very clean) toilets, as well as a communal shower and wood fired sauna. When leaving, you are asked to strip your beds fold your bedding and put your bedding and pillows on the lounge to make room turnover quicker for staff. As well as looking after the rooms, staff are also responsible for looking after the reindeer, preparing meals for guests and working at the Saami / Reindeer village at Jukkasjarvi. Staff work long hours and very hard. Breakfast was a really nice Scandinavian style Smorgas, it was great to be able to go in and feed and interact with the reindeer - let them come to you... You can also borrow some cross country skis or snow shoes to go for a walk on the lake. Reindeer Lodge is about a 5-10 minute drive from Jukkasjarvi and a good alternative to the Icehotel. We recommend staying at Reindeer Lodge.
