Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing to dislike
Basically we did not stay in the cave rooms but we were relocated to the Java Hotel just down the road and it is a lovely hotel all round and ideally located to visit the caves.

MaltaThe only comment is that the apartment rooms should have a kettle in the kitchen. That is the only thing we missed as a family that needed to boil water for bottles

Czech RepublicWe only missed the information about check-in in Hotel Jama, so we had to walk both ways again from the town to Jama and back to get keys. Thankfully it was nice weather :).
Great location in the center of Postojna. We also bought the breakfest in Hotel Jama - excellent. There was enough space for all 5 people. Beautiful view over the church from the terrace. Clean and light space.

United KingdomA bothersome singing session disrupted our attempts to get a good night's sleep, especially frustrating since we had an early departure planned.
The location is good as its close to the caves and the castle. The room was basic a bit dark. but the beds were very comfortable. The staff was ok. The restaurant not so much, they close at 10 yet they ran out of food by 9pm. This was not mentioned to us when we checked in. The town itself is a ghost town after 9pm. Restaurant and shops are closing so if you do want to grab a dinner, I would recommend a bit earlier. The checkout was ok as we had to leave early and that was not a problem.

RomaniaWhen we entered the room, we smelled something as mold and our daughter started to sneeze. We tried to find out the cause but we figured out only after we woke up the next morning that there was mold in the room and my daughter is allergic and she has asthma. I have sent via email a reclamation and they appologized and told us that they will refund 30% of the room rate, but this didn’t happened. In the other hand, the food wasn’t tasty at all. So dissapointment for 180 euro/night.

United Arab EmiratesThe room did not match the picture we were shown. It was very basic, old and not maintained. There were poor facilities, not even a bin, and the worst part is that one of the beds for our children had multi-power sockets exposed at the exact height of where the sleeping person would have their head. Super dangerous. Made worse by other electrical accidents-waiting-to-happen like broken light plugs. The management needs to invest in some basic maintenance and safety.
Location is fairly convenient, in the centre of town and a short 15-minute walk to the caves. But it's right on the central square where they have concerts and music, so if you're a light sleeper or have kids, this could pose problems.

AustraliaWhy can’t the key be picked up at the restaurant that is part of the apartments instead of miles out of town
The location wa fine. But walking miles out of town to pick up the key was not good. Not being able to pick up key till 4pm was also not satisfactory

IsraelWe took two apartments, one of the a apartments was OK, the other was not good a family with kids and there is no good separation between the parents room to the children room. We stayed there for a few days and asked to move to a different room but there was no room. Also our room did not have Wifi reception (which is bad for a stay of a few days). The staff said they would look in to it, but the problem was not fixed during our stay
The staff was very nice
