Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room wasn't particularly well-sealed, meaning that there were lots of bugs that were able to get into the room. At least in part because of the gaps in the doorframe and windows, the air conditioning, even on full blast, couldn't get the room to a comfortable temperature. There is also nothing much within walking distance (restaurants, shops, etc.), although taxis are readily available.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The ocean-facing huts were unique in their design and very charming. Beautiful art and statues all around the property. Excellent views of the beach. Nice restaurant with a few options for dinner and a standard breakfast with good-quality baked goods.

SenegalAlthough the staff clean the beach in front of the lodge every day you do have to be prepared to see a lot of plastic coming in on the waves - it is the way it is at the moment but the staff thanked me every time I helped them pick up bags and bottles.
The location and the staff were so helpful and it is a great place for a break away from the city. The food was excellent as well and served with care. The long beach is a great place to walk or jog especially as the sun is setting ....

BelgiumNothing, it was the perfect spot to end our trip through Senegal with some chillaxio in the sand
The type of room we booked was unavailable because of maintenance/ renovation works, therefore we got an upgrade to a suite 'le chef'. Magnificent, spacious, nicely decorated room with double bathroom!!! The location is excellent, nice and quiet at a perfect beach and at walking distance (+/- 2km, it might be worth taking a calèche ;-)) from the centre. Very pituresque beach environment with kids playing in the sea and exercising on the beach, fishermen working in their pirogues and women selling their handicrafts. The restaurant serves superb food!

GermanyRooms could be a bit improved, some of the lights and fan didn’t properly worked. No extra plugs for mobile phones. Mosquito net could be a bit better designed.

United KingdomCan not say we disliked anything.
We got to stay in a hotel on the beach within a couple of feet of the sea, the hotel was very funking in its culture style. The surrounding area was the real Senegal with real people. The owner and staff could not have be more accommodating if they tried, (it was natural and not forced on them). No tvs no loud music just the sound of the sea, wind and birds. What more could you want from a holiday.

United States of AmericaTama Lodge is on a wonderfully long beach that is great for walking. The site is private and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious as well as other wonderful meals. The rooms are great but the bed a bit hard. There are plenty of lounge areas to enjoy on the property. The owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful.

United States of AmericaA suggestion would be to provide door covering that provide more privacy. I had to put a towel up to the door of the first bungalow I stayed in.
The bungalow was clean, quiet and the bed very comfortable. The room size was just right. I also enjoyed the artistic rustic features of the furnishings in the bungalows and around the property. The food was also very delicious. They posted options on a chalk board in from of the dining area. The outdoor dining room was quaint and comfortable. There are sea views from every angle outdoors. It was a peaceful experience.

PortugalThis was our favorite accomodation in Senegal. The manager and staff are wonderful and its location couldn't be better. The beach is widely frequented by locals - they go there to exercise, for a swim, etc, specially in the afternoon. You get a much better flavor of what a local beach is like. I much better appreciate this type of place then those private, closed resorts where you don't get a chance to meet or talk to locals. We highly recomend Tama Lodge!

United States of AmericaIt was just perfect.
The place was beautifully set up on the beach. One can see the local kids practice foot ball and exercise on the beach. You would feel you were part of the world they live in. The land lady was so graceful and beautiful; there is a small library one can get books.

PortugalThe breakfast is good but a little bit minimalist. The staff should give a list or inform the guests on the first day about the options they have even if it is extra, as for example an omolet. Our room could have some more light, to be easier form example to read at night.
The lodge location is something that allows the guest to immerse himself in the authentic African environment as it is deeply framed in the local environment (this part of the beach area is farway from the resorts), either by the layout of the space, by the decoration of the lodge (rooms included) or even the women that are seated with colorful clothes close to the lodge fences. A very quiet place to stay apart of the world for some time. Our special thanks to Animata on the restaurant/bar service always with a smile or a good suggestion and to Makoumba on the beach towels service, always very attentive to clean your towel when its necessary.

GermanyThat we had to leave, because our holidays ended.
I stayed with a friend for 2 days in the lodge. The hospitality and support by the staff is amazing. The food is execellent and the view on the ocean and sundown is stunning. The Tama lodge is directly on the beach and there are locals around playing football or making sports. Even it is such a nice beach it is not crowed. We had a late fligth and could stay over the day at Tama and using the facilities.
