Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaIt would've been nice to be near a train station, but everything was great!
I am really glad I chose to stay in Pier 808 during my time in Bangkok. The location was great- close to Yaowarat road and right next to a pier for the boats. The staff was exceedingly kind and took lots of time to talk to me and give me recommendations. This meant a lot to me as a solo traveler! The rooms were clean and quiet and the bathrooms were spacious. There was water and a kitchen area. You can really tell that they aim to give you a great experience. Absolutely recommend if you want to be in the Chinatown area.

AustraliaThe room is quite small but it’s all you need if you are going to be exploring all day 😊
Pier 808 was in the best location. Two min walk to the pier, where you can catch the hop on, hop off boat that you can catch to all the main attractions. The staff were so lovely. Even gave us their WhatsApp number incase we had any questions throughout the day. They helped us plan our short stay in Bangkok and couldn’t have been any more helpful. The rooftop view was beautiful, especially for sunrise.

The host is amazing, she's so welcoming, friendly and always available to answer questions, give recommendations or just have a chat. The hostel is very clean and modern. I love the capsule style beds and slept well every night. The bathroom gets quite warm but there's a plug-in fan to help. The common space on the first floor is good for hanging out, having some food, doing some work. It's not a very busy or social hostel but that suited me as I was working remotely the week I stayed there. The rooftop is amazing, the views are great and there's also an indoor space on the rooftop, where I worked one of the days. The location is relatively convenient too. Overall, it was great!

United KingdomEverything was great, the receptionist was extremely helpful and nice. I've never experienced anything like this. She even asked us for our whatsup accounts to give us tips about whatever we were looking for, icluding at times when we were out and about. Very friendly, didn't feel akward whatsoever. The view from the roof is absolutely wonderful. We spent our every night chilling there before we went to bed. The view makes the city seem so peacefull even tho there is a busy night market 2 streets over every night. There is a shared kitchen that can be used at whatever time of day, fully equiped and with the possibility to purchase snacks and water, beer if you are into that :D. It's most definitely a pearl of Bangkok when it comes to price/value/quality of accomodation. Room was very clean and tidy, modern. There is also a pier behind the corner that connects you to SkyTrain which is only 2 stops away so accessibility is great as well.

A great little hotel right on the river in Chinatown. Pier 808 has great clean, new facilities, comfortable beds (had some of the best sleeps of our trip here!), strong air-con. We loved the neighbourhood and the night market and also enjoyed sitting up on the roof top deck at sunset each night to take in the river and city views!

HungaryThe hostel is new (as of early 2024), clean and quiet, thankfully not a party place. It is a great base if you want to explore Bangkok, with easy access to the main sights, but in an authentic neighborhood in Chinatown. There’s a 7-Eleven around the corner, Yaowarat night market is closeby, and there’s also a hip street with great trendy cafés, restaurants and an art gallery just around the corner (Song Wat Road). The pier / boat stop is literally in front of the house, and the boat takes you to all the main stops on the river (e.g. Wat Arun or Iconsiam) for 30 THB. The rooftop has amazing views of the skyline and partially the river, it was very peaceful and nice to sit out there at night. I also have to mention that the Hosts are so incredibly nice! They went out of their way to give me good tips and a great experience in Chinatown, thank you so much once again for that, it made my stay all the more special!! :)

IndiaThe restrooms could be better. The toilets and washrooms are adjacent so the odour is a problem. There are no bidets so inconvenient for Asian travellers. The water was not clearing quick enough causing quite a flood during the shower but Nat got it temporarily addressed with the assurance of a permanent fix soon. No concerns otherwise.
Amazing location, at the heart of China Town but away from the noise and traffic so safe to travel alone in the night but peaceful at the same time. The pier is hardly at a 5 min walk which makes travel to Central Bangkok very convenient. Same with 7Eleven. Food street is hardly 10 min away. The entrance to the hostel can get a little confusing but once in, the ambience is quite a treat. There is lift available, the rooms are clean, beds are cubicle styled with own light, no windows but AC can be adjusted. Lockers are spacious enough for backpacks. The star attraction is the rooftop lounge which offers a beautiful view of Bangkok and the Chao Praya River. Nat at the reception was the most helpful host, very respectful, polite and speaks good English. I was the sole guest during my stay there and didn't see another soul except him but at no time did I feel unsafe, so thank you.

Great staff, Pat was super professional and helpful, lots of useful information 😁 Location was great, just by the river, jetty/pier 50m away, MRT station a 1km walk away. Chinatown next door, lots of great food but I would stay away from the tourist food stalls that are set up in the evening.

United States of AmericaPier 808 is conveniently located right by Chinatown, though the exact area looks at bit sketchy when you first arrive. It is down a small street and at first seemed sus to us, but always felt safe. All around we loved our hostel and highly recommend it.
I stayed at Pier 808 Hostel with my friend for Chinese New Year and we were very pleased with our stay. We loved how close of a walk Chinatown was from Pier 808, making our time so memorable. The hostel was very clean and they had lots of facilities available such as a small communal kitchen (with snacks and drinks you can buy). The beds in the hostel were also very spacious and private with the sliding curtains and the beds themselves were very comfortable. The staff was kind and hospital and sent us all the information we needed to know about using the river boat and the area. We enjoyed our stay very much.

AustriaI had an absolutely lovely stay at this family-owned business. As they just recently opened up you can enjoy brand new facilities with a great design, including a rooftop with gorgeous views, a comfy Lobby with a self-catering kitchen where you can simply hang out. You can also purchase basic snacks & drinks. Dorm bed was comfy and I could sleep in easily as the room is dark (no windows, helps the a/c to cool down fast). However, the best was definitely the kindness of the host, she is going above and beyond to learn from her guests how to improve the hostel and I had a great time with her! Will definitely want to come back next time I’m in Bangkok.

SwitzerlandWhen I arrived, I wasnt sure about the street, as there were not many people around. However, its just because its a residential side road and is therefore rather quiet. I was always walking around there on myself at night as well and never had any problems (and never felt insecure :)).
A very new hostel, boutique style in a very cool area for exploring chinatown and temples. The hosts are so nice and help out wherever they can. Its nicely quiet as its in a side road. Amazing view from the rooftop. Comfy beds. Very clean. Very fast internet on every floor. Very modern facilities.

The place does not have many reviews because it is brand new, but it is brand new. It is located in a quiet area near Chinatown's main road and all doors open with a key card, so super safe. Everything was very clean and the staff was lovely, felt like a hotel!

MalaysiaI’m rating this stay as a 10. It’s well-located, in an interesting old neighborhood that’s experiencing a mini-revival (Timeout called it the new coolest neighborhood in Bangkok) with some cool cafes, restaurants, art spaces with local shops that have been there for decades. It’s also a stone throw away from hectic Chinatown, and a short ride to the main tourist attractions of temples, palaces and flower market. The owner/manager is the loveliest person - ready to give recommendations, point you to where you need to go, and respond to requests. The room we were in was very clean with the basic necessities you need. They have free coffee and tea at the lobby. And it was very generous of them to let me work in their lobby for the entire afternoon even though I had already checked out. Will definitely recommend!
