Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceLarge room with fridge, gas cooker, sink. However no pots, plates or cutlery. Toilet and shower down the hall. Bed not the most comfortable (too soft). But for the price in excellent location it’s pretty good. Would come again.

LatviaThere was nothing I did not expect, considering the price range. Property delivered exactly how much it costs.
The location was perfect for me. Near Penn Station, good connection to every corner of the city. Communication with the property was clear and prompt, and all issues were resolved in a timely manner and contactless. I spent 6-7 hours on the property, mainly sleeping. Other times, I was in the city. Amenities are enough and clean.

United KingdomOld, very dated furniture that was on the brink of falling apart. Some light switches didn't work. Uncomfortable, deformed matress on bed. Very cold (early April). Paper thin bedsheets. Had to sleep in my coat. Kitchenette has no equipment at all (like cutlery). What was supposed to be a private bathroom was really just a separate toilet room and a separate, tiny shower room on the corridor. Both were used by other people.
Friendly and helpful staff. Big room. Fairly clean. Quiet at back of building. Superb location a few minutes walk from Penn Station. Good WiFi.

Austria- inconvinient and intransparent check-in process. Had to inform the guesthouse thrice about my arrival time, and yet they let me wait 30mins in pouring rain upon my arrival - the whole expirience is interesting. Have never seen such a basic interior ever before, without any amenities, many parts of the interior on the verge of breakdown (eg window blinds) - there is no heating. As the windows are not tight, but gaping holes fixed with ducttape, the room gets very cold during night. Woke up several times because the wind is actually blowing through the window holes. The only way to temporarily heat up the room is to put on the gas stove. - Wifi never worked during my stay - mold in the shower Personally I would not come back. Despite the excellent location, the poor quality of basically everything (at 180$/night!) would let me favor taking a room outside Manhattan next time.
- central location in midtown - clean staircase - included stove and fridge as advertised (toilet and shower on the floor) - no obvious dirt in the room (apart from the stove) - no cockroaches

CanadaThe check-in process could have been made clearer. I was not informed that I needed to call the property owner upon arrival to check-in, so more clarity around that would be appreciated.
Can't beat the price for the location! It's the best of both worlds.

United States of AmericaMy particular room was on the first floor, and with the building being so old, it was basically impossible for any light to get to the tiny window that faced a tiny space to the "outside," meaning it's constantly dark and poorly ventilated in the room without the AC or a light. The bathroom toilet was fine but the shower had basically no space, and the water pressure was very poor, along with the curtain being slightly moldy.
It's a relatively cheap place that gets the job done of giving you a place to stay. The location is good; it's a not far walk from plenty of places to eat and a subway station. The staff aren't on site but are nonetheless helpful. I was able to call one at 11 PM for a late check-in and they assissted me well, while others were helpful through text.

United KingdomDuring my stay, it snowed, the temperature was low, and the room could have been warmer, but I received an extra blanket.
The location is perfect: close to Penn Station, the Emire State Building, and Hudson Yards. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. A janitor gave me valuable information as this was my first time in New York. The price was great, especially compared to other accommodations in the area.

South AfricaHost did not give proper instructions on how to get to the apartment once we arrived at the aiport. We emailed them and asked them to please meet us at the apartment as we did not yet have US sim cards, but we did not have an exact location and once we got to the suspected building, nobody was there for 15 to 30 minutes before someone arrived and luckily opened the door for us. The host eventually came and helped us, so just communicate your arrival with the host beforehand and ask him if he can rather drop the key somewhere for collection. There is a stove, but no kettle or coffee maker, pans, cups etc thus you cannot make tea, coffee or any food. This was O( for us as we mostly went out, but a nice cup of coffee in the morning would have been great...
An amazing location and near everything in Manhatten. Will definitely stay there again. It was basic yet clean and the bed was comfortable. All you need for a short stay. Host was friendly when we met him. Bath is small, but shower was great.

AustraliaWe found the room to be quite hot at times without the ability to change the temperature due to the nature of the heating, this while bearable made the stay less enjoyable.
The accomoadtion is as described and quite reasonable priced in a great location of the city, if like us you aren't planning on spending time in the room except to sleep this is a great place to jump off and explore the city

United States of AmericaThe shower situation was not ideal. So the toilet is separate and shared by the whole floor, and the shower is also a separate room and shared by the whole floor, and obviously it’s an older building so no elevator, just creaky staircase, and old plumbing. So if you’re used to a hotel experience, this is not that.
I liked that it was cheaper than most other places, that it was a private room, and that the location was super safe and convenient. The check in was easy as well. If you’re traveling and don’t plan on spending a lot of time in your room, it great! It’s nothing to brag about, but it a decent private place… again, cheaper than other places which is the selling point.
