This was perfect for a night's stay in Ouray - in fact, we wished we could stay longer. The room may have been a little smaller than some of the places we'd stayed on our trip, but it was very comfortable and homely and was in a lovely timber house in a beautiful setting with a lovely breakfast room and lounge area. The host was very welcoming and made a delicious breakfast which was included in the price (unlike most places we stayed), making Black Bear Manor also very good value for money, as well as being one of the nicest places we stayed in during a 3-week trip. Wholly recommend it.

Our bathroom was very small.

Great location just a few minutes walk to downtown. On-site parking and over the top free breakfast. Manager was fantastic. We missed it but happy hour sounded like fun.

Hot tub temperature was nice and hot, plenty spacious, could have sparkled a bit more.

Wonderful hospitality by John, the host. Prompt, friendly and gracious service, thoughtful extras, amazing home-cooked breakfast. Next time I’d stay a couple extra nights, see what other recipes John cooks up.

The breakfast was phenomenal! Felt like I was home away from home. Its within walking distance to the main street too, and by the river which is soothing.

We had to leave early due to a family emergency. My father went to the ER and (sadly) passed away a few days later. We had to leave earlier than anticipated, but the staff was understanding.

The breakfast was nice and very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly. I like the option of a carry-away breakfast for the one morning we had to leave early.

I lucked into a king suite with a spa bathroom and private patio at the last moment. I'm on the backend of a seven week road trip, so luxury was not in my budget. I'm guessing my karma was good, as they had a one night stay available at a very reduced rate and on the Thursday before Labor Day weekend! Comfortable, relaxing, luxurious are all words I'd use to describe the Inn. Add that to the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, and the serenade of the nearby brook as the surroundings, and it was hard to leave. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Happy hour and breakfast were great, as was the coffee bar.

we had free coffee, tea for 24/7 at the main hall. small shopping area at the corner. Receptionist was very comforting, kind person. outside sitting area, and no smoking in the whole property!

it was very comfortable, the common areas very spacious the observation desk was so comfy and special! in Ouray the mountains are fascinating. you can enjoy it up there. Extra fridge where we could store our perishable food. breakfast was very special. you order, they make it for you.

Nothing. It was all good. Ouray is a great town and the Black Bear and Jentry we're wonderful.

Our host, Jentry was excellent. She explained how every thing works, made us breakfast and a nice afternoon happy hour. A+
