The breakfast was not the best. It was small but it didn’t bother us so much because we were in New York. We wanted to try the bagels, banana pudding, etc.

We liked that the hotel rooms were clean, we were allowed to leave our luggages early before checkin. The staff were so nice, helpful and approachable. The location was nice.. close to Central Park.

Of course New York City prices are going to be high, but I found this one to be a good value. I will likely return here anytime I come to the city, especially for concerts at Carnegie.

Right across the street from Carnegie Hall. Finally a decent value hotel in NYC that doesn’t feel worn and dated, is clean, comfortable, and convenient. My room looked right onto Carnegie. My room wasn’t oversized but was a better vibe than most any other hotel in the city at a comparable pricing point.

There was very little to dislike. A short list of minor complaints: 1. The room WAS very small. We travel light and spend little time in the room, so that was not a major issue. 2. We had a view of a brick wall. That may have contributed to the 16th floor room's quiet, however, as the window did not face the street. 3. There was no microwave. 4. One of two large elevators, shared by both guests and staff, was out of service when we arrived. It was working by our final night, so having just one working elevator was probably unusual. 5. The nightly room rate was steep. However, EVERYTHING in Manhattan is pricey, so the Carnegie provided good value and met our needs quite well.

Location, location, location! This was a handy spot for us: highly walkable to Central Park, Times Square, the Broadway theaters, and Carnegie Hall (just across the street). The staff was invariably welcoming, helpful and professional. We enjoyed the relaxing wine/cheese/fruit service each day at 5-6. The breakfast buffet saved us money as well as valuable time on our brief visit to NYC. The breakfast/wine room was tiny but designed to make the most of limited space. The hotel lobby was also quite small but classy, as was our room. Despite the Carnegie's location near noisy Times Square, our tiny 16th floor room was quiet. Also contributing to a good night's rest were blackout curtains, a comfortable bed and an efficient heating/cooling system on a thermostat. The room had excellent overhead lighting, desk lighting, and reading lights on the side tables. The small refrigerator was stocked the first day with two bottles of cold water. Everything was functional and looked clean and well-maintained. The rainfall shower was great. The front desk was staffed 24/7, providing quick service and a feeling of safety. Elijah was a fixture there, always personable and helpful. We especially appreciated the arrangements he made for our transport to LaGuardia Airport.

Breakfast was poor, didn't use it. Preferred to eat out but you get what you pay for. No tea making facilities in room but free in lobby area. Just a pain to go down as most people still on different time zones so awake early.

The wine hour, location was great. Clean all we needed for our stay.

There was a terrible noise from the vent for the first 3 nights which affected my sleep particularly on the 3rd night. Was informed that they could not do anything about it because it was caused by steam in the vent (?). Luckily there were rooms available the next day and the staff promptly changed my room.

Good central location, decent breakfast, lovely happy hour. Small but comfy room perfect for one or a couple.

As mentioned many times in other reviews breakfast area inadequate for hotel size! We only ate downstairs twice, toaster very very slow.

Great location a few minutes from Central park and Subway. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful with any questions! The room was really well appointed, we had huge amounts of storage space. You will hear some traffic noise, sirens ...it is New York so take ear plugs if your a light sleeper. Only a few rooms on each floor, only 3 on ours and absolutely no noise from other rooms. The bed was really comfortable. Although rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities you are able to take drinks from the downstairs breakfast area up to your rooms, I just went down in hotel dressing gown to get a cuppa first thing in the morning! Again if space was tight downstairs of an evening take the wine and fabulous snacks to your room, lovely whilst getting ready to go out for dinner. Great Greek restaurant next door to hotel and lovely Italian Pazza Notte a few mins walk away along with bakery and other cafes.

The room we were given was a bit on the small side, but this is to be expected in NYC. There was also a smell coming from outside when we opened the window, so we kept it closed.

Clean room and bathroom in good condition, good breakfast, fast WiFi, attentive staff, complementary coffee/tea/snacks in the breakfast room for the duration of our stay. Overall this is a great accommodation if you are visiting New York for tourism or have business in the area.
