Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo elevator so beware to pack light as it’s a LONG flight of stairs to make it up to one or the other hostel housed in this building and that men and women have to share the same small bathroom facilities. Also, sad to say gotta beware that the area surrounding the hostel is sketchy, especially at night and it’s regressing more so seemingly with every passing day as is the rest NYC. It’s truly shocking to see all of NYC being collapsed into becoming something less and less 1st world European built mega city and more of an amalgamation of shantytowns favela:(
The staff was very cordial and helpful, especially with assisting me in carrying up my heavy luggage up the long flight of stairs pass the front entrance door to enter into the actual hostel. The place has a very modest, no frills arrangement with many small, individual pod rooms created instead of taking a bed amongst many in one large dorm. No cooking facilities but free breakfast style foods (vegetarian) offered all day long. Super easy to get to from Penn Station.

United States of AmericaAlthough surprisingly quiet while I was there, it is strange to not have an enclosed ceiling to the room. I assume they do this for airflow. I don’t mind small spaces and I only really use my room for sleeping. The co-ed bathrooms are a little grimy, but not too bad.
The Chelsea location is very convenient. Right near Penn Station, easy to get to from the airport. Lots of things nearby.

CanadaThe fact that there is only one access in case of fire made me a bit nervous. I am short (5'2') but my feet were against the wall.
Appreciated the 24-hr access to fruit, bread/toast, jam, coffee/tea etc. It was great to be so close to the train station. I liked having a private 'pad' with locked access. Previous visitors noted a lot of noise. I didn't find that during my stay. People were very conscious of being quiet and respectful. I wanted a safe, convenient place to spend the night between trains and was glad for the no drugs, alcohol, smoking or parties policies.

South KoreaWish locking was bit more scure with deadlock on the inside. Talking on the phone and watching mobile loud should be limited to public area outside of the pods (2nd floor lounge or staircase hallway. Stronger shower head pressure would be good.
Great location! Friendly staff with good service. Strongly recommand it if you are not too picky about where you sleep. Great wifi connection unlike 2022.

New ZealandSome staff were lovely & smiley but 50 % very somber and unhappy seeming. They were ccomodating but not friendly or warm by any means. The fact that the cubical was not large enough to open a suitcase in even on the floor is difficult. 3 toilets & 2 showers for so many occupants would be a nightmare at full capacity. In case of fire this place would be a death trap with only 1 exit. Im not sure this would be legal?
It is immaculately clean. Appreciate the fresh fruit & teas

United States of America1. The net over the pod is not secured, leaving a gap for things to fall into. 2. The bed is broken. 3. Ventilation in the bathroom allows poop smell to linger if mates don't use sprays, which happens often. 4. Light kept flickering.
1. Price. 2. Cleanliness. 3. Breakfast and drinks. 4. Spiritual ambiance.

Czech RepublicThe prices in NYC are outrageous, for the price you pay you get not a room but rather a wooden human-sized box without a ceiling so you can easily hear other people’s snoring (and be anxious about disturbing other people’s sleep). If you are a light sleeper, you will be widely awake by 6:30 am which is inevitable if you are jet-lagged but may be proved annoying a couple of nights later.
The location was superb. A couple of minites from the Penn Station, metro easily accessible, flixbus stop nearby. NYC is walkable, so it’s not that hard to get to other famous places (Times Sqr or Hudson Yards).

United States of AmericaI learned that this kind of stay is not my cup of tea. I'm a light sleeper and generally, having someone else snoring in the room will keep me up. Magnify that by 12. The walls are thin enough that I can hear my neighbors eating snacks in their cubicle. Which is generally fine, except when it's 4am and they've just come in from their night. The situation was not for me, though for others it'll be perfect. I'd still highly recommend Interfaith!
The Interfaith staff was wonderful and extremely communicative! They were very pleasant when I asked for an extra pillow in my Notes section prior to checking in. And then very amenable when I asked for one of them to be replaced. It feels very safe and it's wonderful for solo travelers.

Czech RepublicThe bed is short, so even with my 175cm, when you want to get really comfortable, you kick the wall.
Location is the main factor here. It is clear that you dont have comfort in room with 20 another people as you have in hotel. But the "rooms" are clean. Fruit which you can eat everytime you want is good.
