Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaToiletries in the bathroom either didn’t work or weren’t refilled. The towels were thin and weren’t absorbent- definitely need replacing. The bed was squeaky and my husbands side of the bed so sloping he felt as though he was going to fall out of bed.
We were in the downstairs apartment. Roomy and tastefully decorated apartment. If possible, I’d give it 7.5. A beautiful old building. Right across the street from the Sunrise diner!

The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had all the appliances needed, there was a could lounge area for sitting in and the bathroom and shower were superb. Free parking outside the door was an added bonus, as well as the superb resturant opposite

United KingdomCurtain/door from second bedroom to living room; it was uncomfortable with friend sleeping on the sofa effectively in the same room as a couple. If they need the toilet they had to walk through the bedroom to get to it.
Fantastic building and furnishings, loved the quirkiness.

AustraliaQuite a few things. There was no toilet paper besides the little that was on the roll when we arrived. We also couldn't find out how to switch the light on for the main bedroom - not too sure if this was us or a general electrical fault. These are not deal breakers and can be fixed quite easily. The location, if you like quite is excellent but if your are looking for restaurants it is a little isolated. We walked into town for dinner and ordinarily it wouldn't be a problem but the walkover bridge to cross a very busy road has been occupied by homeless making it a little unsafe. We ended up driving into the city center instead which was not ideal.
The accommodation is definitely quite "quirky" and the area it is located in is very quite. After a week we had built up quite a bit of laundry and the washing machine was a welcome sight!

United States of AmericaThere was a mound of dirty towels/comforters right as you open the door when we checked in. This wasn’t nice to see, we also saw the bed completely unmade and dirty mugs in the kitchen sink. Very disappointed, seemed lazy and would prevent us from rebooking if not addressed by the owner.
Very cute property. really nice updates to the home.

Netherlands-The beds were not very comfortable: one was very old (which looks great!) but made a lot of noise. The other one was too small for two persons and you felt every move of the other person. -The cleanliness of the appartement could be better. -The windows could not be opened for some fresh air, I guess because of the construction period.
-The building is very nice looking with an historic athmosphere. Also, it has everything you need like a big fridge, dish washer, living room with television, etc. -The WiFi was good. -The diner across the street is nice for breakfast! -The free street parking is also a plus. -The building has a outdoor seating area.

NetherlandsThe TV is quite complex to use. The bed really needs a fix, is quite old, other people also mentioned in the comments.
Appartment was located in a quiet area, 15 minute walk to City center. Has a nice kitchen with all you need. Clean shower and good airco. Good price in my opinion. The in check was easy with the code although I would prefer if the owne would explain it personally. A laundry to wash your clothes is 5 minutes by car, 15 minutes walking. Famous Sun Studios is 5 minute walk.

AustraliaOn arrival, it was about 100F degrees and on entering the apartment I smelt a sickly stale perfume smell. I think it was the washing powder fragrance but it was overpowering and pervaded the bedding & air for my whole visit. The bed was also more like a sofa bed attached to the walls. There was a large gap between the bed and bedhead, so pillows fell through it. There was also no light above the bed. The last person had locked the safe, so as there were no instructions as to how to reset it, it was useless and after one night, the TV refused to work- again no instructions to solve this. However, M emphis is a great place and this apartment was convenient.
The apartment is historic but with that comes age and an inability to open windows. The location is good, across the road from a restaurant serving great breakfasts & lunch, near Sun Studio and Memphis Tour company and near a trolley, that I never saw in three days! The kitchen has a microwave coffee machine and the arrival snacks were welcome, as I didn't have a car & the nearest place to buy any was a 15min walk. The wifi was wonderful as was the hot water.

United KingdomLocation was a little way from centre to walk but only took 30mins, having a car for sightseeing meant the location was ideal as not in the centre - so location is really neutral depending on whether you use a car or walk
Apartment very clean, did have an issue gaining entry only because I didn't have access to the message that had been sent by owner. Once I got message no problems and the 4 pack in the fridge was a welcome sight

United States of AmericaOur only issue is that the toilet tank kept refilling, about every 4 minutes. I opened up the back of the tank quite a few times and was certain that's something I just gotten out of adjustment and it would be a quick fix. I was never able to get the plunger to seal correctly so every few minutes to float would drop enough that the tank would refill and it was quite loud in the middle of the night. I just ended up having to shut the water off to the toilet so we could sleep. But that was really a pretty minor thing every other single thing about our stay was fabulous. Oh, the only other negative was the other couple, or couples who are staying upstairs never, I mean never locked the front door. We came and went quite extensively and whether we were leaving the apartment or coming in the street the door was open every single time unless we had locked it.
The apartment was extremely tastefully decorated, very cozy - we could have lived there indefinitely. The wood floors, the high ceilings and tall windows complimented by the more contemporary eclectic decor was really on point for a city hideaway. Centrally located, yet in a very out of the way little corner of the city across the street from one of the best breakfast spots in town!
