Extremely loud. Bar/club inside the building with live music til 2am. Walls extremely thin. Good luck getting any rest, especially with drunk roommates returning from the bar at all hours.

Just a small thing, but the hotplates in kitchen were quite hard to work out how to use (between us staying there we usually managed to work it out), instructions would be useful.

Great location, near the shops, bars, restaruants etc. Liked the female dorm bed I had, it had a clip on fan on a shelf on the bed, and it has a slight privacy partition. Kitchen was great for socialising and good facilities for cooking.

No major issues, the room I was in was quite small so when it was full it was a bit of a squeeze and the bathrooms are a bit rundown and haven't got the best facilities.

Really nice hostel in central Austin, right next to 6th Street. Friendly staff members and the facilities were good, including common areas around the hostel and a spacious and well-functioning kitchen. You can also get a discount at the built-in speakeasy which is a nice bonus.

During house keeping, they misplaced my bunk number while cleaning. That was inconvenient, but they sorted it out when I brought it up.

Room was a bit dark and dingy and it was quite small for 8 beds, but they provided ear plugs and I was still able to sleep well

Brilliant location right in the centre of Austin, walking distance to lots of sights and bus distance to others (and the 24 hrs bus ticket only costs $2.50). I got a free welcome beer on arrival and it came with a free hostel branded koozie, which was a nice bonus. All of the staff members were very helpful and there were loads of spaces to work if you needed them. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and not too busy. Really big lockers in the rooms that you could secure with your own padlock

Excellent location within walking distance to many local shops and the famous 6th street. For my first time in Austin I was able to take in a piece of the city and some of the history.

Not 100% maintained: some lights (vanity) not working; 1 hot water handle in dual sinks not intact. 1 wifi code given @ reception, but another in email- also different instructions about linens when leaving(1 said bring to desk, newer said put in basket) Stairs to Penthouse steep with no landing at top

The rooms didn’t have a lot of floor space for getting in and out of cases for clothes but that’s a minor thing, the bathrooms were a good size

It has a really good stocked kitchen with all the utensils, toaster, kettle, microwave, oven rings for cooking, coffee maker…, and the staff were really warm and friendly, especially Howie.

there is no privacy at all. most of the bunk beds don‘t have a privacy wall and everyone can just walk into the open showers. the very public toilets are also in the shower rooms.

Great location right on sixth street. everything walkable, easy to meet people and if you like to party, you‘ll have a great time.

Awareness for other roommates on spatial awareness and sounds that disrupt the entire room. Phone calls in the middle of the night, leaving and waking the entire room in the middle of the night...

They really cram in the bunk beds into the hostel rooms. It's difficult to maneuver your bags in the room, especially if you're taking a top bunk, while also remaining quiet.

Fantastic location - was effectively in the middle of downtown Austin, very helpful and pleasant staff, and (grading on a hostel-specific curve) the space was clean and well maintained.

Laundry services needed cleaning, tons of dust in the dryer that I had to clean out before using it.

Very friendly staff and a good hostel for socialising with the speak easy and kitchen space. Enjoyed my stay here and the hostel definitely added to how good Austin was as a city on my travels

No body soap (or shampoo or conditioner) provided. Hand soap was. Mattress had a huge dent in it which was quite annoying to sleep on. Upon stripping the bed in the morning (as requested by hostel as part of check out process) saw the huge dent was accompanied by sizeable moisture stain. Perhaps replace mattresses when they get like this?!

Great location, easy walk to Texas Capitol, Congress bridge and 6th street venues. Rooms are spacious and clean. Speakeasy is good fun.
