Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStaff at check-in were efficient and polite but not particularly welcoming and guests visiting the rooftop bar can get a bit noisy and create a queue at the lifts in the evening.
Excellent location, good size room (for NYC!), new and well maintained room and bathroom, general comfort of the place, rooftop terrace.

CanadaMy only complaint is that room service took almost an hour when they said it would be closer to 20. Not a big deal!
Beautiful pool, clean nice rooms, great views, friendly service, solid food, amazing location. The heated salt water pool has great views but it’s not a douchey vibe, amazingly. I’m doing a tour of swanky rooftop pool hotels of nyc and I think this one is my fave so far, over 1 hotel Brooklyn bridge and the William vale. The location is amazing, and you can walk to Greenwich/west village, soho noho, highline park, little island, the Whitney and countless shops, bars and restaurants. Big fan!

United KingdomWater in the room cost $8 per carton which is ridiculous. Also no tea or coffee facilities
Fantastic location. Used the Lululemon active mirror which was a bonus. We had two rooms, the deluxe king was a good size but the superior queen a bit on the small size so wouldn't book this again.

AustraliaPrice charged was more than advertised on Booking.com. When I tried to book it through the app it promised a certain price but when I clicked on submit it jumped by $600 US.
Great location in trendy meatpacking district. Close to start of the High Line. Close to Chelsea Markets. Good size room.

ItalyThe only reason I’m not giving 10 it’s because there were no tea/coffee in the room as well as the water costed 8$ which should always be complimentary in my opinion and experience in 5 star hotels where you already pay a pretty high fare.
- the room was modern and spacious, with a beautiful city view from the balcony over Chelsea. - the rooftop was probably the coolest element of this hotel, we were able to use the pool only one day because of the weather but it was an amazing experience. Also the bar/restaurant it’s stunning! - The gym in -1 it’s well equipped - the location is probably one of the best in the city in my opinion - staff was kind and professional

United StatesEverything was great except the pool attendant who was extraordinarily rude. She assumed we were not guests and told us we could not enter the pool area, instead of asking whether we are staying at the hotel or asking for our keycard like a normal person would do. We are local and would consider joining the membership collective at the hotel too, so it was just poor form. Her behavior was off-putting.

United KingdomWe had very poor service in Chesters. Staff seemed completely disinterested in attending to outside tables and just stood chatting together by their station. This was at 4.30 pm I’m so called happy hour. Long delay in getting food; similar trying to get the bill and pay.

ItalyNo kettle / coffee maker, but you get one if you ask for it. Incredibly noisy. Groups of women running from room to room, slamming doors and shouting, from midnight to 3am. Hotel staff had to intervene. This happened on 3 nights. Soundproofing is very poor, gaps around the door and thin doors.

United KingdomThe only slightly sour note was a run in ith an inebriated guest in the rooftop bar but the staff did everything they could possibly have done to defuse the situation and even opened up a different area of the bar to enable us to dine in relative peace away from the difficuty.
Location was exceptional and the staff delightful. most places were walkable and the High Line was literally a stones thow from the hotel. The room was enormous and extremly comfortable and the pool a delight for an early morning dip.
