Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The only thing I missed compared to other hotels in the area is the views if you stay in higher floors.
Charming, classic, very warming style and really good atmosphere. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable and not much noise. Really loved it! And restaurant Felice very good also. This is my 8th week travelling to Downtown for work and this one is definitely my favorite one in the price range I am looking for.

We stayed for 12 nights. The staff were always friendly, seems they have a really nice bunch of young people working there. The location was great. There was alot to do, and eat, within walking distance. The other thing i really enjoyed was being able to connect to netflix on the big tv and watch movies from that comfy bed.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was a nice and big. The staff was beyond nice, they offered me wine when I checked in after a long travel in. Rooms were clean, and there was a bunch of restaurants near by

The glass bathroom door let in quite a bit of light into the bedroom at night but not a big deal since we were generally awake at the same time

the value - I felt there was no difference between the king deluxe room and the other king rooms. I was not able to use our breakfast vouchers and I’m not sure why I paid an extra $200 for an extra 100sq ft that didn’t even seem like it was any different. Also, please stop advertising a view.

I loved everything from the beautiful decoration of the lobby, the warm welcome of the staff to the cozyness of the bedroom ! I enjoy my stay and would definitely come back to the Gild Hall on my next trip to NYC.

The staff was exceptional! They made me feel right at home for the week that I stayed there. The front desk crew(s) were warm, friendly, and always down for a chat; excellent customer service! The rooms were big and felt spacious and the hotel was nice and trendy without being stuffy.

Coffee machine in lobby is only available until 10am however after I complained they offered to provide a machine to the room which made all the difference.

Very few outlets by the beds for charging phones, etc..

The room thermostat never seem to go lower than 73 degrees Farhenheit, bathroom felt small, and the bed was comfortable but felt low to the ground.
Great location in Manhattan, easily accessible transportation. Uber could take you anywhere on the island from here for a good price.

The breakfast was not that great, so we only got it once. Bar closed too early for a nightcap after dinner. Pillows were too soft, bathroom had very little space for laying out make-up etc. A coffee machine would have been nice.
The staff was fairly friendly. The hotel and the room were clean. Room was good sized, bed was comfortable. Location was perfect for us.

Looking into someone's room across the street. Not sure if anything can be done about that, but it was a little uncomfortable.
The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast in bed provided by the "Butler" was a nice touch.
