Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe guy at the front desk had a bad attitude and was suspected of racial discrimination. He would talk and laugh with white people but ignore people of color. The door wouldn't lock, the guy at the front desk couldn't fix it, so the girl had to change our room.
The front desk lady was very nice and provided free water and potato chips.

HungarySo this property wasn't refurbished in the past 20 years at least. The furnitures in the room has definitely seen the last millenium. The door in the room was almost falling out, moving sideways, the walls were dirty, etc. One night someone in the hotel did smoke weed, and it was all over our room too (okay, its not the fault of the hotel). The room was extremely small, maybe 16 square meters (170sq feet). Noise isolation is non-existent, I could hear people talking in the next room. There was hair on the towels, the shower curtain didn't reach the floor, therefore after taking a shower, the whole bathroom was flooding. Just to add one extra thing, the guy (or girl or whatever - i don't know) from the front desk was smoking outside just next to the door of the hotel. Its really unprofessional. It's okay for a turkish kebab bar, but goes against any standards at an IHG property.
The most positive thing about the whole place is the breakfast. It was delicious, hot and cold options, branded products. It consisted fresh bagels, pastries, fruits, eggs, sausages, cereals, pancake printer, etc. The room was extreemly small, but to be fair the bed was king size, and very comfortable. Basic amenities in the bathroom, Dove shampoo, body wash, conditioner, hand wash. Location is nice. Also a very positive touch is that there were free snacks in the lobby, and also a coffee station (with no milk though, just prepacked coffe creamers). We had a pleasent stay tough.

DenmarkThe bathrooms were worn down. The heaters were hard to manage so we had it either to hot or to cold at nights.
The breakfast was amazing. The staff was helpful when we did get a room with a heater that only used cold air, they moved us to another room. We even got a extra room for free, as they did not have a 2 queen bed room avalable. The location close to the harbour was great and only a short walking distance to the supway. We used a recommended parking space close to the hotel with a discount from the hotel.

CanadaI wanted to suggest a small adjustment to the breakfast schedule. As a guest who values a leisurely morning and enjoys taking my time to savor breakfast, I believe extending the breakfast hours until 11 AM would enhance the overall guest experience.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by your attentive staff. Their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a comfortable stay did not go unnoticed. The quality of service provided throughout my stay was truly outstanding. Whether it was the seamless check-in process, the prompt assistance with any inquiries, or the meticulous housekeeping, every aspect of my experience exceeded my expectations. Moreover, the convenient location of the hotel made it easy for me to explore the surrounding area and enjoy local attractions. Overall, our stay was nothing short of exceptional, and I am already looking forward to returning in the future. Please extend my gratitude to your entire team for their dedication to providing outstanding hospitality. Thank you once again for a truly memorable experience.

Great front desk , and breakfast staff were awesome. Good location, nice room. I liked the soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion large refillable containers. Environmentally friendly and enough there to use as opposed to small bottles you get at other hotels. Hot water for tea . Breakfast had a good healthy variety . United StatesThe bed was softer than I like, and the lighting in the room a little darker than I prefer. Most crucially, I object to the so-called "resort charge" of $15/night, beyond the rate cited. The hotel does have a very small basement fitness room and gives out free bottled water upon request, but when I spoke to the manager, she explained the fee was not really a "resort" fee but rather a "destination" fee required by the City of New York (varying by hotel depending on location). That sounds like a kind of city tax to me, and I think the hotel should just build that in AS a tax, if really required, and not call it a "resort" fee--which, since NO real amenities are connected to its mandatory payment, seems to me like a sneaky "junk fee."
The room I got was spacious and very quiet, even though at the front of the hotel. I could readily control the room temperature and appreciated having a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe, and large screen tv with a nice range of channels. The drawer storage was sufficient and bedding/pillows comfortable. And the free breakfast had more variety and better quality offerings than at many "chain" hotels where those are offered.
