Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaOn my first night here, I got locked in the communal bathroom because the door knob on the inside was missing. I had to wait in there until I got someone walking by to let me out. The faucet for the shower on the 4th floor was also broken and the light kept turning off in there. Didn’t have that problem with the bathroom on the 3rd floor.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It was also in a really good location.

United States of AmericaI had no towel the first day, and there was no one in the building. No one answered the phone, and there was no phone for texting. Left VMs, and no one got back to me. Facilities look dirty and dingy. My room wasn't clean. The 2 thin sheets were wrinkled, and I had no blanket. Fortunately, I travel with a small blanket and pillow and bathroom product.
Location. Easy access to building. Allowed me to store my bag before and after check in. Checked in over the phone. Easy check in

United States of AmericaI was in 4D, a room at the top of the stairs to the fourth floor. If I stepped a few inches to the right after leaving my room, I may fall down a flight of stairs. The stairs have several curved steps to the top of the stairs to the third and fourth and fifth floors. These present challenges to footing. Carrying my luggage up and down three flights was challenging. The window in 4D led to a platform to a fire escape. There were mechanisms to open the window to escape. The screen for the window had fallen to the floor of the outside platform. I fear being stuck in the room if there is a fire or other emergency. The light at the mirror in the bathroom on the fourth floor was dark. Only the shower light worked. Persons with mobility issues may be unable to access the room, the bathroom, and the kitchen.
The facility is adjacent to the Fashion Institute of Technology. It was convenient for my working in Kips Bay. The bed was comfortable. I slept well. The codes to enter the building and the room worked well.

AustraliaThe only thing that I think was not up to standard was that I think the blanket provided was not washed.
As a single tourist, I really just needed a clean and comfortable room. Everything was neat and tidy, and the bathroom kept in very good condition. There were plenty of bathrooms for the guests and I found the bathroom engaged only once during my stay.

GermanyThe beds were quite short, i had problem lying in there (188cm) as my feet always touched the wall, but it is totally fine for a few nights.
The Hostel is very central and just a few walking minutes away from 34 Penn station. It is also in walking distance to Time Square, Empire State, and Madison Square Garden. So the location is great!

IndiaThere should have been a hot plate where heat or cook some basic stuff. Toaster wasn't working. Only teenie stuff should be taken care of. Else rest in general kool and comfy place.
Being in the heart of the city is always beneficial. Moving around was kool. Food and shopping freaks would love to stay here.

Czech RepublicRoom was way too small, literally claustrophobic. It contained everything that was needed, but there was no space to move. Its okay if you are just going to sleep there and spend 99% of time outside. Weird smell everywhere - weed? Bathroom was dirty - you will find black dots in shower. Check-in was weird. You just sit in kitchen and have talk few minutes. It was weird for me, i am introvert and my english is not so fluent - its not my first language. They also wanted my credit card info (even with CV!) during check-in Wifi almost never worked. Signal in my room was terrible, my phone kept losing signal. I couldn't even contact my family. I always had to go outside, there was public wifi and signal to use. Mattress was probably very old - lot of inequality, it wasn't very comfortable. Too soft for me. Nobody cleaned my room for whole 7 days. Its noisy here - you will listen other hosts and even street. Take earplugs if you want to sleep.
Cheap price compared with hotel Amazing location - near of empire state building, flatiron, Penn Station, The Edge, Times Square.. Lot of bathrooms - you will probably find unoccupied Doors are pincoded - both rooms and main doors so you will feel safe Subway is near Private room - its advantage when we consider this is hostel, not hotel. Warm water Drink machines in kitchen 2 fridges in kitchen

United States of AmericaI had hoped to check in early or to leave my luggage at the facility at 11 am. I called to leave a message and received no call. I went in person to ring the doorbell to elicit no response. I then carried luggage for the day until I check in around 5 pm. Although there were two rest rooms on my floor, both were occupied so I had to walk up a flight to locate an empty restroom. I had to provide my shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The room lacked a telephone and a television.
The facility is a few blocks south of Moynihan Train Hall. It is convenient to trains. Room 2C was spacious overlooking 29th Street. The bed was comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated.

United States of AmericaThe bed was literally a cheap 2 inch Amazon mattress on top of an also super cheap, practically wire frame. I worried it'd break of I sneezed in the night. I'd have given this place top reviews all around as a nice hostel but the bed was genuinely THAT BAD.
Great location and price, good walkability, nice staff.

United States of AmericaThe hotel has one one major drawback: very small rooms. I realize NYC is an expensive place to stay and that these small rooms help to hold the price down, but I may decide to pay more for a larger room elsewhere.
It is well-located hotel, very neat and nicely organized. Small communal kitchen is big plus.
