To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Great staff, rooms we're spacious and well equipped for NYC, with extras already in the room - Iron, Yoga mat, umbrella, and some of the drinks in the mini fridge were complimentary which was a nice touch, and plenty of water available in cardboard cartons. Two bikes to borrow in reception on a FCFS basis but I didn't get a chance to use them. Perfect location as well.

United States of AmericaWe were charged a resort fee by the hotel even though it was included in our Booking.com charge. They refunded it after I noticed it on my credit card and called them.
The rooms were very nice. Beds were a little small for 2 people, but only because we're used to King size. Location was very good. Overall a very nice hotel with a cute restaurant. Be sure to check out the bar located downstairs!

Fab location very central but not too close so wasn't noisy. Lovely rooms very clean, twin bedded room was great slightly bigger than the King, Nespresso machine with free water and pods was appreciated. Restaurant was nice. Staff on reception were helpful and friendly prior, on arrival and on check out thank you all.
