Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was bare basic and very tiny . We were staying for few nights so it was a bit squashy. No chest of drawers only one tiny bed side table. With two adults and two luggages was a bit uncomfortable. The level of the noise is high at night, but that's the compromise for the perfect location.
Perfect location, very close to Times Square and other attractions. Good value for money. Friendly staff. The room is okay for a short stay.

United StatesMy room door could not be locked on inside. It wasn't aligned quite right. I discovered this upon first arriving which was a bit late. Around 10pm? I tired several times to shut it and press on it, lift it up, etc. trying everything I could besides slamming it to line it up. When I went to use the restroom that door was even worse. It had a 1/2 inch gap between the strike plate and end of extended striker. Making the door knob useless. As a catch and hold shut mechanism. The guest in the room next to me had decided my door problem was personal and had decided to stomp up and down the hall slamming hers while also slamming the stairwell door and there was also attempts to open mine knocking my balanced hair brush down I set up as an early warning system since all I had was the chain to keep someone from walking in. Which I have woke up those being removed at 3-4am in motels more than twice. It was very busy outside my door for a couple hours and I had no idea I was to blame for starting it, until I got up at 8am the next morning and it all started over again. This person was obviously very self centered and childish. I never gave baby Karen the time of day. I wasn't going to engage with that mess. Or explain myself. I never slammed my door to try and shut it. It was a metal door and I could see the problem. The mattress was comfortable and by 11 something the chaos had finally been having stopped. I slept well without anymore disturbances
The lobby, room sheets and towels were clean. Also staff were very attentive and kind. Security to enter was top notch, classic N.Y. style.

Ukrainethe hotel and room weren't clean, I saw someone's hair on my bed and in the bathroom, the window was impossible to lock, so I could hear the city which never sleep even better than I could imagine. everything was old, still worked, but super old, and definitely needs some repair. and also be aware that the area around the hotel is not the safest, I wouldn't recommend the solo travelers to walk around around late.
the hotel is fine. it's not the best or the cleanest, but it's okay. location is the main advantage of the hotel.

United StatesIf you check-in before 3pm you need to pay $10 for each hour you arrive early. At check-out I wanted to leave my luggage until my flight and there was noone at the desk. Couldn't reach them on the phone either. The hotel room is the bare minimum you would need. Cleanliness was ok, but the hotel didn't feel very clean overall.
It was a cheap room, with a private bathroom.

United StatesI came with 2 heavy suitcases and had no idea the place doesn’t have elevator. The front desk guy placed me in the last floor and didn’t bother checking for lower levels availability (I had to ask specifically and only then he tried to search but it took too long so I just told him I’ll take the original room). He didn’t offer help with carrying my luggage. Overall it felt like they don’t much to please the gusts, but my stay was good because it was affordable and the room was functional.

United StatesDid not like having to do stairs, especially after walking all day to sight see. Really need to invest in an elevator. If you have a bad back or knees would not recommend staying here. Again pay for what you get if on a budget.
Location great from Madison Square Garden, a 20 min walk to Times Square. Next to plenty of places to eat. Not so bad for price if on a budget. A couple blocks away from train station.
