Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location in Chinatown was a plus for me, but might represent a problem for others. No safe available in room. No fridge in room but there is a shared one in the basement.
The room was quite small and no-frills, in line with expectations. Concerning the location, it was excellent for me but be aware that Chinatown is a peculiar district, not everyone might like it. Some noise from the nearby trains is decently isolated and did not prevent a good sleep. Friendly personnel.

It is just next to the very busy bridge, so it’s a lot of noise. Other than that no complaints.
This is a clean hotel very close to the Manhattan bridge. Nice location, with lots to see nearby. Great stay for a few days.

Excellent customer service from the moment you check in. The lists on local bars and restaurants, etc, were welcomed. We went to Tria Diner for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. Location very good for exploring lower manhattan.

A kettle in the room to make hot drinks would've been a nice bonus!
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable hotel. I had a great time. The extensive restaurant recommendations list from the hotel was a bonus and we really appreciated it. I hope to come back here when I next stay in New York.

Carpet could be refreshed.

The ONLY negative I can find is the window wouldn't stay wide open, so I had to use the curtains to keep it like that. I like to air out my room. But other than that I didn't have any major problems during my stay.
The hotel staff were very nice and cordial and explained everything. The room isn't the biggest, but to be expected in New York. The bed and cushions were comfortable. Just a 5-min walk from 2 metro stations, making it easy to get around the city. The room was always tidy and clean when we got back. Check-out was fast, and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel to roam around the city before going back to pick them up to go to the airport.

Extra charge for some water. Tea or coffee making facilities would have been nice. The room was way too small. Even though you don't spend much time there, it would have been nice not to bump into anything all the time while moving around. You can definitely hear the traffic on Manhattan Bridge despite wearing earplugs.
The location was good, the subway easy to reach and some sights within walking distance. The staff was friendly and the bed quite comfy.

Maybe the detergent small was a bit too strong in the bathroom but it was clean so I could close my eye on that and the windows open so you can air the room
Great value for money. I was fearing that being located next to the train tracks will be a pain but actually there was good window isolation and I slept like a baby!

The train passes by and cause some noise for those, who are sensitive to it. (For me it wasn’t an issues: at the end you’re in a heart of the huge city).
Very friendly and helpful staff! The place is very clean.

Rooms not adjustable temperature… it was much too hot for me. I had to leave the windows open during the day to cool the room down

A little bit of a walk to subway stations, especially in the cold. Expensive deposit, more than one night's stay worth. Not many stores nearby that sell variety items (eg. snacks, soft drinks, etc.)

It was super cold in my room in the night and I could not regulate temperature. I swear it was below 65 and my comfort temp is ~73. I had to sleep in sweater and warmer pants. Just keep it in mind coming in winter.
perfect location, 5 min walk to two subway lines. Bed was very comfy, very nice personnel and very welcome! I enjoyed the stay and it was not expensive but I believe its normal price for Feb.
