Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryFrom our room we could also see the HVAC systems of the Public Library - but it's not the hotel's fault. During an afternoon nap the neighbouring doors were slammed too loud by the cleaning staff.
Modern, newly furnished large room with view to Bryant Park and some high-rise buildings. Perfect location, we walked almost everywhere: Times Sq, Central Park, Grand Central Terminal, Broadway, MoMa, Library. Very kind staff at the reception.

BruneiHaving complications during check in. We booked a studio with 33 m2 but we’re given and downgraded to a small room which staff didn’t told us till we confronted him. He blamed me and booking.com for messing up the booking and never even apologised for the downgraded till the lady manager came to solved the problem. She was the only one that apologised for given us a smaller room for our booking and given us the studio room with the 33m2 for our booking in the end. Such a bad experience upon checking in when arrived tired at New York City. Not friendly hotel at all except for the location.

SpainThe cleaners banging the doors of the other rooms while coming in and out while cleaning - they did do an amazing job though, everything was spotless clean. There was a bathrobe, but I would have loved some slippers. The towels could have been just a tad softer. The shampoo and conditioner were ok, maybe just not for my hair type (but hey, we can not all be the same, but if you have thin hair bring your conditioner). These are small things I am noting just because of the price. When you pay so much you kind of expect something just a little bit extra. On the other hand this is New York, so maybe I did not pay as much he he
The location is amazing, especially because I love to walk and it was quite easy to get from here to most places (not everywhere though, New York is a big city). All my favorite coffee shops minutes away (Starbucks, Pret, Joe and the Juice, Le Pain Cotidienn, Whole Foods, and so many other beautiful places). The staff was amazing and Levi was very welcoming when checking me in and very helpful throughout my stay. Shoutout to the guy opening the doors for us with a smile! The room was spacious and clean, there were plenty towels and a bathrobe (which is a must for me). There were 4 pillows and all of them were heavenly soft. The complimentary welcome juice and popcorn were delicious and just what I needed after the trip.

United States of AmericaThe carpet felt more dirty than I’d be comfortable letting my kids play on it but , hey, it’s New York.
Loved it, it’s one of those places you’re almost afraid to rate it as good as they deserve in order to keep price and attention same for the future :). Clean, even larger rooms than expected (kin suites), excellent service from the friendly staff, useful and timely communication. And the location is just fantastic.

United KingdomThe only down side was our view of the library bins in the morning but we weren’t expecting great views as we chose to be lower down to conserve prices and spend elsewhere.
We loved the service and staff in particular. They couldn’t do enough to help us. The gym is open 2; hours which was perfect for our early risers and late night teen. The opening of the 6th floor terrace was fantastic. We loved sitting there for drinks.

United States of AmericaIt was not a problem with the hotel, per se, but there was filming on the street and inside the NY Public library next to the hotel right outside of my room window. It got a little noisy at night due to it being a night shoot.
This hotel was in the perfect location- right in between the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and Times Square. We loved the added touches of the complimentary treats, the Nespresso machine, the complimentary wine in the evenings, the free bottles for water near the elevator, and the extra essentials in the bathroom (cotton swabs, cotton balls, shower cap). The hotel is also very close to a subway entrance (behind the NY Public Library). The text messaging system they use is very efficient and they responded right away when I had requests for extra pillows. I am also a light sleeper, so I loved that the rooms are sound-proofed and I never heard any noises coming from any of the other rooms. The staff was top-notch!
