Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room faced the street, so although the staff was kind to upgrade our room, it faced the road and was a bit loud at night. I would rather have the upgraded room and deal with the noise. That's just me and its kinda expected for midtown.

The only thing I struggled was the shower. The water was spilling everywhere and it was not easy to have shower as it’s not easy to adjust. Also, they seemed to have a planned fire alarm test but this was not informed to the guests.
Amazing location, friendly staff, rooms were clean.

Room was small , we was charged a small amount for incidentals which we didn't use / have and are still waiting for response from the hotel

Great location, only a short walk to Times Square & multiple subway stops. Coffee/tea/water facility in lobby was a good substitute for not having these in your room. Beds were very comfortable and amazing shower. Staff were very welcoming & helpful!

Paid for a room with a king bed and got “upgraded” to a double queen room. It was just me and my wife, we didn’t need two smaller beds instead of the bigger bed I paid for.
Room was great, staff was nice, everything was clean.

Im aware NyC space is limited however the furniture and accessories in the room could have been arranged better: the nespresso machine is not accessible easily the towels were put in the shower itself They forgot to give me new towels when cleaning the room

In spite of the reduced room size, a small desk would be appreciated. No desk at all was available in my accommodation. At some point, staff was performing some maintenance on the aisle, generating a lot of noise - this should be done in a proper place! Finally, I would request for a room not so close to the elevation since people would be always very loud when getting to their floor.
The hotel is quite good and offers a good cost-benefit balance. Very well located being only a couple of minutes away from Times Square. Even though the hotel did not offer breakfast, there were bagels and croissants available every morning as well as a coffee machine available for guests all day long. Staff was nice.

Dim lighting in the room, and the shower door is not well designed, the bathroom just gets flooded with every shower. Heating is very loud, I’m not a light sleeper so it’s not a major issue, but still it’s annoying if I need to work in the room.
Very convenient location, vibrant neighbourhood. Great hospitality from the staff, good room service.

During our recent visit, we had the pleasure of meeting Marilyn, whose exceptional customer service as a receptionist left a lasting impression. The complete team was fantastic but to us Marilyn has an innate ability to understand what we wanted, she was able to find quick and flexible solutions and her recommendations for shopping destinations were just perfect. We will recommend the hotel and come back again if we will travel in NY.
