Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaCan't think of anything we didn't love about our stay. It was exactly as described and what we expected.
My partner and I stayed at Phoenicia Lodge over a long weekend in January and can’t say enough nice things! Jennifer and Maureen are wonderful, kind people and we enjoyed seeing them every day at breakfast. The room itself was sparkling clean and equipped with toiletries, a mini fridge, and a DVD player, which we used every night thanks to the Lodge’s expansive collection. A continental breakfast is available every morning (coffee, yogurt, bagels, pastries, juice, etc.) and was perfect fuel for our morning adventures on the trail. There are many nearby options available for food. Phoenicia Diner, Brio’s, Woodstock Brewing and several other dining options are only a 5 minute drive away. We spent one of our days snow tubing at Hunter Mountain (20 min drive), another hiking Kaaterskill Falls (25 min drive) with a visit to Van Winkle brewery after (35 min drive). Our last day we spent visiting the massive antique store right in town (5 min drive) and took a long walk along the Ashokan Rail Trail (10 min drive). Phoenicia Lodge was the perfect central location for us and we couldn’t have been happier. We will be back and would recommend anyone visiting the Catskills to stay here!

United States of AmericaAlthough this location was on a main road, it was very quiet, and comfortable. Once you entered the property, it had trees and bushes that made you feel you were out in the country. While the room we stayed in was small, there were only two of us, and we planned to be out visiting friends most of our time there. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was wonderful - some kind of delicious homemade bread or muffins each day, and the best yogurts & coffee, plus fresh fruit - it was a wonderful spread! They also had a great library of DVDs to borrow to watch on the TV in our room.

United States of AmericaAs I said above the room that was arranged maybe for an overnight trucker, but the lodges owner arranged for us a cabin which cost more, but it was needed
I liked the cabin that booking .com didn't arrange for us, the small room was more like a motel room with tight shower and toilet, not good for two day stay maybe overnight the property was beautiful with the very tall trees and porch

United States of AmericaThis is a very cute, rustic hotel that will make a great base of operations for Catskills hiking, adventuring etc. 30 minutes from everything, comfortable & clean. Any superlatives pale in comparison to what I would say about the owner/operators. They are an amazing couple, take time to talk to everyone, and feel like they get to know all of their guests. Their place truly becomes a home away from home.

NetherlandsThe wifi is a bit slow, but with a bit of patience you'll get everywhere. Not really a bad thing but good to know if you go there: there is no mobile reception, so if you have to log in with an sms-code, you cannot do that here.
Fantastic location, with cute lodges and lots of amenities. Outside of the lodge are picknick tables and hammocks, a fireplace, a bbq and volleyball net. In the evening there were fireflies, which made the place look magical. We had a lovely time, hiking and swimming. The owners were very friendly and gave lots of good advice on where to go, which was much appreciated. The lodge was very clean, and had everything we needed. We could borrow dvd's and books from the owners, we thought that was a nice touch. All in all a lovely place, wish we could have stayed longer.
