Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was like a college dorm. A comfortable mattress was on a low wooden platform with side tables that looked like orange crates.. The view was of apartment windows. The bathroom had no surface large enough for my wife's cosmetics or my dopp kit. The affiliated garage was several blocks away and complicated to drive to.
The Chelsea location is very nice, particularly if you want to walk the Highline. Some of the outdoor facilities were pleasant. The desk clerk gave us vouchers for two free drinks when we checked in.

United StatesBathroom was not functional. Shower curtain was too short for shower so water always got everywhere all over bathroom floor making a huge mess and especially unpleasant experience for second person showering. There was also no real counter space in bathroom so toiletries had to go on the floor, where it just gets soaked.
Lobby was great. Location was great. Room was stylish.

CanadaThe platform bed was challenging for us older folks. We managed. I have no idea how the housecleaning staff cope. The small round sink was also a challenge. The over-the-sink shelf was not wide enough for anything other than toothbrush/paste. Seeing right into the shower from the bed was unusual and not useful. This hotel/bar/restaurant was a hopping place and the music carried right up to the 5th floor. The light switches seemed to be quite random and we never did figure out how to turn on one lamp.
The breakfast menu was limited and different - not your standard eggs/bacon. However, the eggs/avocado/tomato choice was excellent (the scrambled eggs were the best I've had at a restaurant). We were impressed with the creative storage space (there was a decent-sized fridge). And the heating/cooling system worked as requested - i.e., it actually cooled the room for the night. The location was superb - we were attending the "Sleep No More" experience just down the street.

CanadaBeds were very low to the ground so not easy access for those with mobility issues. Very loud on weekends with music from the club downstairs. Walls of shower were see through.
It was right beside the Sleep no more event which made it extremely convenient. Easy access for Uber pickups.

United StatesMy husband’s pillow had a hole in it and it absolutely was not our fault. I noticed it as soon as we laid down. The shower curtains had stains. Our trash bins did not have plastic bag lining. Please do read their Yelp reviews BEFORE booking, because it’s been a week and we still haven’t gotten our $100 deposit back yet. I tried calling but no one answered. No idea how they only have great reviews on Booking.com app. I took videos of the room but this app only allows pictures, so took a pic of the restroom in one of my videos.
The location is really great. 30min walking distance to Times Square. Staff were helpful and pleasant. No rudeness.

United StatesThe concrete floors were freezing and there was a space heater that didn’t help much. Could definitely have used more linens, a larger comforter and some area rugs.
The bed and bathroom was comfortable. The bar and restaurant were cute and had good food and drinks. The location and the price were great.

United StatesThe room was nice, but it didn't have great lighting or table/counter space. Also, the bed was low to the floor, which was a pain.
The girl at the front desk was great. Good location for what we were doing. They gave us a free drink at check-in. The street was not a busy street, so we were able to get parking, which saved money.

United StatesThe bathroom was very clean but dangerous. I am glad I had my Crocs because the floor of the shower was extremely slippery and there are no, NONE, grab bars. Showering was scary. There was no microwave or fridge and any such conveniences. The coffee downstairs in the lobby was good but I like tea also in the morning.
The staff was very helpful and attentive. They were pleasant and responsive. And of course the location near the High Line and other sights.

NetherlandsI liked the room and hotel but not sure I’d stay again. Messages sent over the app were not replied to. Bill vs. charges on creditcard don’t match (at all) and a new itemized bill didn’t make any difference so I’m left feeling overcharged and unsure how to resolve it. Strange shower design (other person in room looks into the spotlighted shower but you can’t look outward) There was a big party at the hotel one night which caused noise until early in the morning - had I known when booking I would have stayed somewhere else.

FranceThe bathroom had a problem: the shower would empty in the bedroom which made the floor cold set and slippery. (I’ve been coming to this hotel for years and it’s the first time it happened to me though) I didn’t like the fact the management removed the safe from the bedroom. That’s a lack of security for valuables.
Receptionist : very kind and efficient when I asked a different room.

United KingdomThe roof terrace etc wasn't available to use when I was there. It was either unmanned or being used for dance classes etc. That meant dining and drinking in reception. It feels like they've done a relatively superficial update on whatever was there previously. From a distance and in photos it looks great, up close, not so much.
The location was perfect for me. Right next the Highline. It's also has a very cool reception area and the food isn't bad.
