To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe sink in the bathroom is minute with no shelf for toiletries. Also no towel bars at all. Only four hangers in the wardrobe. The lobby looks barren and unwelcoming. Thankfully the staff were the opposite. The view is miserable.
Size of the room and bed. Ease to get to the lobby from the 8th floor, because the hotel has only 10 floors. The location is excellent for midtown galleries and especially Carnegie Hall. The shower is exellent.

United States of AmericaThere was no Wi-Fi at all (but this was not a problem for me). There was only cold water from the tap in the sink, hot and cold in the shower. It seemed to me that the staff was not very friendly, maybe sleepy.
I actually got a better room than I booked, it was a studio and had a massage chair! It was great to get a back massage after a long day! The room on the 9th floor had a good view, it was quiet and comfortable. It’s convenient that you can leave your luggage in the luggage room.

The room was surprisingly spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet too considering its very central location. The location was great.
