Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAlthough warned, it is quite loud and the train noise feels very intense and made it seem as if the windows were vibrating. I used earplugs and it wasn’t an issue to sleep but not great. It also was just loud in general, I knew when my neighbour was doing the dishes or showering…
Great location and amenities

CyprusVery loud, train ramp and station right in front of the windows. I thought it closer to the East river, but it takes about 15-20 to walk there. 2 bedrooms studio has only one bathroom - quite inconvenient when you travel 4-5 people, everyone needs shower after the flight etc. At least one small extra toilet room could be. They give you 7-digits!!! code to open all the doors and elevator. Why not 4 digits? Or 6 at least? 7 is absolutely impossible to remember, very difficult to use every time in elevator, especially if you have bags in hand. Staff is okay, but I can’t say they’re friendly. No washing machine in the apartment and even shared laundry in the building. The apartment itself is quite small and minimalistic in design and equipment. It takes 1 hour drive to both airports from there. Better to stay on Manhattan, has no sense to stay on Long Island.
Nice supermarket opposite the street.

United KingdomThey need to clean the rugs better, there’s hairs on them. Depending on the room. It might be a little noisy because of the trains. Price: everything is expensive in NY
First of all, Staff Ricardo and Toron were amazing. Really helpful, and nice. Location is great, close to the subway that takes you straight to Manhattan, or Queens, or Brooklyn. There are shops and launderette around. The appartement is great: kitchen, shower, bed, wifi, tv... all good!

AustraliaThe apartment was very hot, so we left the windows open at night which meant we could hear the trains.
Very close to public transport. There was a local supermarket close by and as the apartment had a kitchenette we were able to prepare our own meals sometimes. Very spacious for a studio apartment. It was a pleasure to come home at the end of the day. Lots of hot water and excellent water pressure.

United States of AmericaLIC is sleepy if you're used to the city - everything closes early and there is nothing to do there. They could use a lot more luggage storage so you're not stuck there after checkout before a flight. Late checkout should not have a fee. The hair dryer needs to have an OFF button - it constantly runs unless you unplug it and the only place to put it down is the sink, really poor design.
Great room, clean, bright. Location was good for the US Open & Manhattan access. Right by subway (7/E/G) & across from Trader Joe's.

BelgiumThe train around the block does make noise, but you get used to it quite quickly. Fold-out sofa in the living room is not very comfortable.
Good location near Court Square subway station with excellent connections to Manhattan, Brooklyn and airport. No keys required as everything works with a code and the app. Trader Joe's supermarket and excellent 24/7 diner across the street. Moma PS1 a 3 mins walk away. Great view of Manhattan. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomHad to key numbers into the lift as a dyslexic I found this quite hard.... A Bluetooth connection like the doors of the room would be perfect.... Not a problem to most people
The people were lovely the access and air conditioning or easy to control and the location was perfect close enough to be in Manhattan in minutes far enough away to be quiet.

AustraliaMy first visit to Big Apple for 10 days has become a memorable one. A bustling multicultural mega city, this Queen of all cities is very special. The food, the people, the transportation and Sonder accomodation overlooking Manhattan skyline and Court Square subway - all together and my visits to many tourist spots in the city is an unforgettable experience. My wife and I are giving special compliment to Zac, your security guard for his exceptional help.

CanadaI really have nothing negative to report. If someone is sensitive to noise, the train ran below our living room window, but something that is easy to live with. Did not affect sleeping.
This Sonder met and exceeded my expectations. The location was in a great area - easy access to Court Metro Station, two minutes walk Traders Joes, and lots of great restaurants in the neighbourhood. The door code system made everything easy, having security was definitely a plus. The two-bedroom suite was huge by NYC standards, two large bedrooms, beautiful kitchen/dining area, and large living room. Roku system, cable channels. Filled with natural light in every room from windows. Bathroom large and supplied with quality products. The kitchen had beautiful dishes, glasses and cutlery, top quality appliances, and knives. The decor is calming and minimal, the property was super clean, and beds and linens top quality. Really appreciated the supply cabinet on the main floor to top up supplies. I have stayed in various airbnb properties in NYC, but this Sonder is where I will return to time and again.

United KingdomThere was not one thing we didn't like about the property. But we did complain that someone had been smoking cannabis on the 9th floor by the lifts the smell was absolutely horrendous. But this was dealt with and everyone was sent an email regarding this problem.
You have an absolute gem of a property at Sonder. So very close to the subway and minutes away from Manhattan. Food, diners and bars very local. Apartment was very clean, smart and everything we needed. I will be recommending Sonder to friends and family that's for sure.
